ABOUT THE ROLE

Build the product clinicians rely on every morning.

HealthLeap’s dashboard helps dietitians at Cedars-Sinai and Penn Medicine see which patients need attention, understand the relevant clinical data, and act quickly. You’ll build the interfaces clinicians use and the backend services behind them.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

- Own product work from conversations with clinicians through production.

- Make complex patient data clear enough for clinicians to find what they need in seconds.

- Build new products as we expand into more conditions.

- Build hospital analytics with visualizations people can trust and act on.

- Ship to hospitals including Cedars-Sinai, Penn Medicine, and Houston Methodist.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

- 5+ years building production web applications, with strong frontend and backend engineering beyond basic CRUD.

- Strong React, API design, SQL, and relational schema design.

- An eye for clear interfaces and the judgment to check what the underlying numbers mean.

- Independent delivery: you talk to users, make scope decisions, verify your work, and own the outcome.

- Something you’ve built that we can discuss. A public portfolio is welcome; a walkthrough of private work works too.

WHAT WILL MAKE YOU STAND OUT

- You’ve founded a startup or built products from idea to real users.

- You make complex data intuitive through design, visualization, and clear copy.

- You’ve worked in healthcare or clinical software.

THIS ROLE IS NOT FOR YOU IF

- You wait for a spec before you start. We figure out what matters with users.

- You’ve only built CRUD apps or marketing sites.

- Close-enough numbers are fine with you.

- You need predictable 9-to-5 hours. We protect deep work and rest, but a hospital go-live can mean a 60+ hour week.

No LeetCode or algorithm puzzles. Use the tools you’d use on the job, including AI.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

- $175,000–$275,000 base plus meaningful equity

- 100% covered healthcare premiums

- Unlimited PTO, with a recommended minimum of 20 days

- 4% 401(k) match

- Laptop and home office budget

LOCATION

San Francisco, in person. The default is every day, with a rule of thumb of about 32 hours a week in the office. When you need to work from home, post “wfh today” in Slack. No tracking or approvals. We judge output, not hours.
