Your Role

As Vice President, Clinical Documentation Integrity, you will set the enterprise vision, strategy, and governance framework for Honest Health’s clinical documentation integrity capabilities. You will be accountable for ensuring CDI programs are scalable, clinically appropriate, operationally effective, and aligned with regulatory requirements, organizational priorities, and partner commitments.

You will oversee the full CDI portfolio, including prospective, concurrent, and retrospective documentation initiatives; coding quality and compliance; provider education strategy; documentation technology; analytics; and partner-facing CDI solutions. You will establish enterprise priorities and performance expectations while enabling CDI leaders to manage day-to-day program execution.

As a senior leader, you will advise executive and clinical leadership on documentation-related opportunities and risks, represent CDI in strategic planning and partner discussions, and build the leadership structure and capabilities necessary to support Honest Health’s continued growth.

Primary Functions of the VP, CDI Include:

Enterprise Strategy and Governance

  • Establish and lead Honest Health’s enterprise CDI vision, multi-year strategy, operating model, and capability roadmap.
  • Define the role of CDI across clinical operations, value-based care, partner performance, technology, compliance, and provider engagement.
  • Establish enterprise governance, decision rights, policies, and performance standards for prospective, concurrent, and retrospective CDI programs.
  • Translate organizational growth plans and partner needs into scalable CDI capabilities, staffing models, technology requirements, and investment priorities.
  • Evaluate emerging regulatory, clinical, and industry developments and determine their strategic implications for Honest Health’s CDI programs.
  • Ensure consistent CDI standards across markets, partners, programs, and delivery models while allowing for appropriate operational variation.

Portfolio and Performance Leadership

  • Maintain executive accountability for the performance, quality, scalability, and effectiveness of the CDI portfolio.
  • Establish enterprise objectives, key performance indicators, dashboards, and executive reporting to assess documentation quality, program adoption, provider engagement, operational performance, and compliance.
  • Use clinical, coding, operational, and financial insights to identify enterprise opportunities and prioritize CDI initiatives.
  • Review portfolio performance with CDI leaders and cross-functional stakeholders, ensuring that material gaps have clear owners, corrective actions, and appropriate executive visibility.
  • Sponsor the continued evolution of pre-visit planning and other documentation-support programs, ensuring they remain clinically relevant, efficient, compliant, and responsive to partner needs.
  • Provide strategic oversight of implementation plans for new CDI programs, partners, markets, technologies, and service offerings.

Compliance, Quality, and Risk Oversight

  • Partner with Legal, Compliance, Clinical, and Coding leadership to ensure CDI policies and programs align with applicable organizational, federal, state, and third-party requirements.
  • Ensure appropriate monitoring, auditing, escalation, and corrective-action processes are in place to identify and mitigate documentation and coding risk.
  • Promote a culture in which clinical accuracy, ethical practices, and regulatory compliance take precedence over short-term performance considerations.

Provider and Partner Strategy

  • Establish the enterprise strategy for provider documentation education, engagement, adoption, and performance improvement.
  • Partner with clinical leaders to ensure CDI programs support providers with timely, relevant, and actionable information.
  • Serve as an executive CDI representative in strategic partner discussions, performance reviews, and complex issue resolution.
  • Incorporate provider and partner feedback into CDI strategy, product development, and continuous-improvement priorities.

Technology, Data, and Innovation

  • Define the CDI technology and data strategy in partnership with Technology, Product, Analytics, and Clinical leadership.
  • Establish business requirements and investment priorities for documentation platforms, analytics, workflow tools, reporting capabilities, and EHR integration.
  • Evaluate opportunities to responsibly use automation, advanced analytics, and emerging technologies within clinical documentation processes.
  • Ensure technology solutions support clinical workflows, partner requirements, compliance standards, and measurable operational outcomes.

Organizational and Leadership Development

  • Build and lead a high-performing CDI organization aligned with Honest Health’s growth strategy.
  • Lead, coach, and develop CDI leaders, empowering them to make decisions and deliver results within established enterprise standards.
  • Ensure workforce capabilities and credentialing requirements keep pace with organizational, regulatory, and technological change.

Executive and Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Serve as the enterprise subject-matter leader for clinical documentation integrity.
  • Advise executive leadership on CDI performance, strategic opportunities, capability needs, and material risks.
  • Partner closely with Clinical, Compliance, Legal, Technology, Product, Analytics, Operations, Finance, and Market leaders.
  • Represent CDI in enterprise planning, operating reviews, investment decisions, and strategic initiatives.
