Senior Financial Messaging & Middleware Engineer – FIX / SWIFT

Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Financial Messaging & Middleware Engineer responsible for the architecture, engineering, automation, security, modernization, and operational support of enterprise FIX and SWIFT messaging platforms across Linux, OpenShift/Kubernetes, cloud, and appliance-based environments supporting critical financial market infrastructure.

Location: Dallas, TX / Tampa, FL / Jersey City, NJ

Key Responsibilities

• Design, engineer, deploy, and support FIX and SWIFT messaging platforms.
• Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot SWIFT infrastructure components and financial messaging services.
• Support message routing, connectivity, security controls, encryption, and compliance requirements.
• Manage and support middleware and distributed systems across enterprise environments.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and cloud-native/containerized solutions.
• Lead platform modernization, automation, resiliency, and disaster recovery initiatives.
• Support highly available and scalable financial messaging architectures.
• Perform root cause analysis, incident management, and problem management.
• Develop engineering standards, architecture documentation, operational procedures, and support documentation.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, security, cloud, application, and other technology teams.
• Support integrations involving MQ, Kafka, APIs, and other enterprise messaging technologies.

Required Technical Skills

• FIX / SWIFT: FIX Protocol, Broadridge Appia, QuickFIX
• SWIFT: SWIFT Alliance Access (SAA), SWIFT Alliance Gateway (SAG), FIN, FINPlus, InterAct, FileAct
• Messaging Standards: ISO 15022 (MT), ISO 20022 (MX)
• Containers & Platforms: OpenShift, Kubernetes, Docker
• Cloud: AWS
• Infrastructure Automation: Terraform, Ansible
• DevOps: CI/CD pipelines
• Operating Systems: Linux
• Scripting: Strong scripting experience
• Integration: MQ, Kafka, APIs

Preferred / Nice-to-Have

• SWIFT certifications
• SWIFT CSP compliance experience
• Experience designing and supporting highly available FIX/SWIFT architectures
• Financial messaging and capital markets experience
• Experience with MQ/Kafka/API integrations
• Cloud transformation and modernization initiatives

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Equivalent professional experience may be considered.
• 6+ years of experience supporting middleware, financial messaging, or distributed systems.
• Strong experience working with enterprise financial messaging platforms and production-critical environments.
