Adjunct Faculty are hired each term on an as-needed basis for the National Security Agency Grant train participants, 75% of whom are first responders (Law enforcement, Fire Fighters, EMT) and military (veterans, active, and reserve).
Adjunct Faculty are responsible for creating a learning environment that assists students in reaching their goals; and for providing effective instruction and assessment within the framework of common syllabi provided by the NSA Grant Directors and Principal Investigators.
Must have strong working knowledge of current technologies appropriate to area of instruction and meet faculty credentials as outlined in the ASOM 7.1 for the specific area(s) of instruction. Conducts all activities with an appreciation, respect, and promotion of diversity of people, styles, and views.
NSA Grant Cyber Security Workforce Certification (CWCT) Standard:
A qualified faculty member in Cyber Security Workforce Certification (CWCT) meets the standard through one of four routes:
1) Possesses an earned master's degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution in information assurance or related field as appropriate to the program; or
2) Possesses an earned related or out-of accredited institution, with documented 18 semester hours or equivalent of courses beyond the introductory principle(s) level in information assurance or related field as appropriate to the program; or
3) Possesses an earned related or out-of- accredited institution, with documentation in two or more of the following: a) Professional certification (national, regional or state) b) Two years of in-field professional employment c) Documented evidence of teaching excellence, including date of award d) Documentation of research and publication in the field e) Documented relevant additional coursework beyond the bachelor degree, equivalent to 18 semester hours or equivalent subject matter vendor, or military; or
4) Posses an earned bachelor degree from a regionally accredited institution in information assurance or related field as appropriate to the program, with documentation in two or more of the following: a) Professional certification (national, regional or state) in the field b) Two years of in-field professional employment c) Documented evidence of teaching excellence, including date of award d) Documentation of research and publication in the field e) Documented relevant additionally coursework beyond the bachelor's degree equivalent to 18 semester hours or equivalent subject matter
