About the Aspire Graduate Program

About the Role

As a Data Scientist I, you will support Data Science teams by contributing to data preparation, modeling, analysis, and visualization. Working alongside experienced data scientists and engineers, you will help design, develop, and deploy AI and machine learning solutions while building your analytical skills and learning best practices. You will gain hands-on experience with data analysis, machine learning, generative AI, cloud technologies, and data engineering, and develop your technical and professional skills through mentorship and structured learning opportunities. This entry-level role is designed for individuals early in their careers who are interested in applying data science, analytics, machine learning, and AI to real business challenges.

Location: On-Site in Raleigh, NC Program Start Dates: January 11, 2027, and June 14, 2027 Graduation Qualifications: Candidates should have completed their studies in 2025 or 2026, or expect to finish between August 2026 and May 2027.

Responsibilities

  • Working closely with other data scientists and engineers to design, develop, and deploy AI solutions.
  • Analyzing large datasets to identify patterns and trends that can inform AI development.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure AI solutions are aligned with business goals and customer needs.
  • Evaluating and creating new frameworks and defining methodologies and governance.
  • Remaining informed about emerging technology trends.
  • Participating in the evaluation and testing of new data science tools and technologies.
  • Applying techniques such as statistical analysis, predictive modeling, and pattern recognition.
  • Supporting the development and evaluation of machine learning and generative AI solutions.

Requirements

  • Be on track to receive a bachelor’s or master’s degree in data science, artificial intelligence, statistics, computer science, computer engineering, or a related field of study.
  • Understanding of core data science or machine learning concepts with an interest in AI, machine learning, and data-driven problem solving.
  • Have experience working with large language models and transformer-based architectures, such as BERT, RoBERTa, T5, and related technologies.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of applying LLMs, such as ChatGPT, GPT 3.5, Claude, Mistral, and similar technologies.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with machine learning algorithms, including deep learning, gradient boosting, and random forests.
  • Demonstrate interest in technology and a willingness to learn new processes and technologies.
  • Have a collaborative mindset with solid communication skills.
  • Be able to engage with leading-edge technologies while working alongside experienced and supportive colleagues.

U.S. National Base Pay Range: $71,600 - $119,400. Geographic differentials may apply in some locations to better reflect local market rates.
