Job Description:

This position is required to primarily operate large mowers and tractors ranging in size from 25HP to 125HP on the campus of LSU at Baton Rouge. Ability to operate equipment safely around pedestrians, employees, and other traffic is a primary concern. A complete understanding of preventive maintenance and proper operation of these machines is required.

Job Responsibilities:

This position is required to primarily operate large mowers and tractors ranging in size from 25HP to 125HP on the campus of LSU at Baton Rouge. Ability to operate equipment safely around pedestrians, employees, and other traffic is a primary concern. A complete understanding of preventive maintenance and proper operation of these machines is required. -75%

Work with landscape crews and construction crews performing a variety of tasks necessary for grounds maintenance.-10%

Perform necessary preventive maintenance, cleaning, greasing, minor repairs, and associated record keeping to maintain the equipment in a ready and safe state of operation. Position is required to maintain the equipment ready for inspection at any time.-10%

Other duties as assigned.- 5%

Minimum Qualifications:

Two years of experience in mobile equipment operations.

Special or Physical Qualifications:

• This position requires a valid driver's license, will require an MVR, and is subject to drug screens per PM-33/PS-67/FASOP HR-04.
• This position is classified as a safety and security-sensitive position. These positions are subject to drug screens per PS-67/FASOP HR-04.
• This position is considered emergency essential and may be required to report to campus in times of emergency and/or closure per PS-18.
• This position will require a physical evaluation based on the physical demands required.
