ABOUT THE JOB
The Pennsylvania Laboratory Director oversees all laboratory operations within the primary care office, ensuring CLIA compliance, maintaining quality systems, and managing both staff and resources to support accurate and timely patient testing.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Regulatory Compliance & Quality Management
- Ensure full compliance with CLIA, CAP, CMS, FDA, PA Department of Health regulations.
- Verify execution of lab policies, procedures, and quality assurance plans.
- Complete and document monthly, in-person visits to each site(s) for which they are listed as the Laboratory Director to actively oversee the planning, organization, direction, and review of all laboratory operations.
- Review proficiency testing programs, corrective actions, internal audits, and staff competency assessments.
Clinical Oversight
- Review documentation of all testing phases (pre-analytic, analytic, post‑analytic), ensuring accuracy and reliability.
- Ensure documentation is maintained for personnel qualifications, training, and competency records.
Staff Supervision & Development
- Provide ongoing mentoring
- Ensure remote/virtual availability (i.e. telephonic, email, video conferencing) to all personnel to provide guidance/answers for testing related questions.
Safety & Facility Management
- Ensure lab environment meets safety/biohazard standards.
Record-keeping & Reporting
- Review comprehensive documentation: policies, incident logs, QC records, personnel credentials on a monthly basis.
- Report significant changes to PA Department of Health within required timeframe
QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Board Credentials
- MD/DO
- PhD/DNP level of education
Certifications & Licensure
- Board certification (for MD/DO/PhD/DNP) as applicable.
- CLIA director qualifications per Pennsylvania Board Department of Health
Pay Range: $125.00-150.00/hr
