Scope of the position

The Production Supervisor owns day-to-day production execution. This role leads operators, manages daily labor allocation, maintains standard work adherence, escalates safety, quality, material, and equipment issues, and ensures that the production team meets daily output targets while maintaining a positive and productive work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead daily production execution across assigned areas, including workflow, labor balancing, task assignment, standard work adherence, and shift performance.
  • Own daily SQDCP / daily management board updates for assigned areas and lead or support daily production huddles.
  • Monitor safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and attendance during the shift; escalate barriers and risks promptly.
  • Provide clear instructions, delegate assignments, and confirm team members understand objectives and priorities.
  • Coach team members, provide feedback, support training plans, and reinforce company values and professional standards.
  • Track daily production attainment, attendance, training compliance, quality issues, and operational status.
  • Identify bottlenecks, equipment issues, material issues, and staffing concerns; escalate complex issues to the Production Manager.
  • Support onboarding and cross-training of team members.
  • Act as primary liaison between production team members and production leadership.
  • Collaborate with Quality, Warehouse, Customer Service, Shipping/Receiving, and Production Coordinator II to ensure smooth execution.

Competencies

Requirements

Degree(s) or certification(s): High School Diploma or GED required; technical associate degree or bachelor’s degree preferred.

Re-certification requirements: N/A

Professional experience required (min.):

Three to five years of leadership experience in a manufacturing/production environment or equivalent; supervisory experience preferred.

Technical Competencies

Manufacturing processes, work instructions, safety expectations, quality requirements, daily management, SQDCP, standard work, people leadership, and 6S.

IT skills: ERP and Microsoft Office Suite proficiency.

Language skills

French: N/A

English: Yes

Interpersonal skills

Strong interpersonal communication, coaching, conflict resolution, delegation, teamwork, accountability, and positive employee engagement skills.
