We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineering Lead to join our Industrial Group!

As Manufacturing Engineering Lead, you’ll play a key role in shaping the future of our machining operations. In this hands-on leadership position, you'll guide a team of Manufacturing Engineers while supporting a diverse mix of CNC machining technologies across our manufacturing facility. You'll drive process improvements, mentor engineering talent, influence equipment strategy, and remain actively involved in solving complex manufacturing challenges. This role is ideal for a technically strong Manufacturing Engineer looking to expand their leadership impact while staying close to the shop floor.

This Manufacturing Engineering Lead offers the opportunity to combine technical manufacturing engineering expertise with people leadership. You will play a critical role in developing manufacturing talent, shaping manufacturing strategy, supporting a large and diverse machine fleet, and helping guide the future growth of the Industrial Group's machining operations.

To be considered for Manufacturing Engineering Lead, here’s what you’ll typically bring with you:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field with five (5) or more years of relevant experience; or an Associate degree in a technical field with nine (9) or more years of relevant experience; or 13 or more years of relevant manufacturing engineering experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Hands-on experience within a CNC machining environment.
  • Strong CAD/CAM programming experience and knowledge of machining process development.
  • Experience supporting multiple machining technologies such as CNC turning, milling, Swiss machining, grinding, EDM, or multi-tasking machines.
  • Strong understanding of tooling, fixturing, process optimization, and root cause problem-solving.
  • Experience troubleshooting manufacturing issues and implementing process improvements in a production environment.
  • Ability to provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers, machinists, and cross-functional teams.

It’s preferred if you bring:

  • Previous technical leadership, team lead, supervisory, or mentoring experience.
  • Experience leading Manufacturing Engineers within a machine shop or precision manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with capital equipment planning, machine replacement strategies, and manufacturing risk assessments.
  • Experience within aerospace, defense, industrial manufacturing, or highly regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement experience.

As Manufacturing Engineering Lead, you will:

  • Lead and mentor a team of Manufacturing Engineers supporting a diverse CNC machining environment.
  • Serve as the technical expert for manufacturing processes, machining strategy, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support a broad range of machining technologies including CNC turning, milling, Swiss machining, grinding, and EDM operations.
  • Drive process improvements that enhance safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost performance.
  • Provide hands-on manufacturing engineering support through CAD/CAM programming, troubleshooting, and process development.
  • Partner with Operations, Quality, and Engineering teams to resolve technical challenges and improve manufacturing performance.
  • Develop employee training plans, provide performance coaching, and help build future engineering talent.
  • Lead root cause investigations, corrective actions, and manufacturing risk reduction efforts.
  • Support machine risk assessments, capital equipment planning, and long-term manufacturing strategy.
  • Remain a hands-on contributor while helping shape the future of our manufacturing organization.

Salary Range Transparency:

Buffalo, NY $110,000.00–$140,000.00 Annually

Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees.
