Position Overview
MercyOne Waterloo/Cedar Falls Behavioral Health Care is seeking a dedicated Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) with Psychiatric Mental Health certification to join our established, well-respected, and growing practice. Practice Highlights
- Join an established, well-respected, and growing practice.
- Current team:1 General Psychiatrist 1 Child Psychiatrist 1 Psych Hospitalist 1 ARNP
- Clinic-based role with shared call responsibilities.
- Call schedule:Weekday: 1:5* Weekend: 1:7* (*subject to change) Includes consults and inpatient unit coverage.
- Facilities:20-bed Inpatient Unit at Waterloo Medical Center Horizons Chemical Dependency Unit
- Large support staff of psychologists, social workers, and mental health counselors.
Responsibilities
- Conduct psychiatric evaluations and manage treatment plans for patients with mental health conditions.
- Prescribe medications and monitor therapeutic responses.
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, and other health professionals to ensure continuity of care.
- Provide patient education and support for families.
- Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).
Qualifications
- Current Iowa license as a Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) or Physician Assistant (PA-C).
- Psychiatric Mental Health certification required.
- Experience in behavioral health or psychiatry strongly desired.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Schedule & Compensation
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, with shared call as noted above.
