Our diagnostics business sits at the intersection of clinical operations, commercial outcomes, and data, serving physicians and health systems across oncology and genomics. We are building the operational infrastructure that will define how Tempus scales its diagnostic operations.

We're looking for a Senior Project Manager to join our Operational Excellence team to support internal processes and initiatives that keep the diagnostics business unit running efficiently. This is a broad, cross-functional role: the Associate Project Manager will take on projects across a range of teams and workflows, partnering closely with stakeholders throughout the diagnostics organization to improve how work gets done. They will serve as a subject matter expert for the operating systems that support diagnostics operations, lead process improvements, and own operational reporting that leadership can rely on as a source of truth. Additionally, the Associate Project Manager will support operational communications and other projects as identified.

Responsibilities:

• Partner with cross-functional teams across the diagnostics business unit to execute operational initiatives and workflow improvements, spanning a range of teams, systems, and processes
• Serve as a subject matter expert for the operating systems and tools that support diagnostics operations, helping to ensure data integrity, security, and efficient performance across workflows
• Autonomously own ad hoc process improvements and new initiatives to ensure operational excellence is maintained as the business scales
• Implement and maintain tracking systems for operational initiatives and project status
• Build and maintain reports and dashboards that give leadership a clear, accurate view of workflow performance and key metrics; partner with Business Intelligence to identify KPIs, validate data accuracy, and iterate as business needs evolve
• Perform hands-on data work as needed, including pulling and combining operational data across source systems to support reporting and process decisions
• Support operational communications across the diagnostics network and stakeholder teams
• Partner cross-functionally with Business Intelligence, Commercial Systems/SFDC, Product, and Internal Operations teams to identify gaps, align on decisions, and keep initiatives moving

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree, preferably in Life Sciences, Healthcare Administration, Business, or a related analytical field
• 2-4 years of relevant experience in operations, project management, healthcare/diagnostics, or data and analytics
• Must be a self-starter who can work independently with minimal supervision
• Persistent and resilient person who thrives in a fast-paced, highly iterative environment
• Is highly organized and systematic, with superb attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and complete tasks with a high degree of accuracy
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate operational detail into a clear story for leadership
• Comfort working with data: familiarity with SQL and data visualization tools (Looker preferred; Tableau acceptable), or a strong willingness to build these skills
• Proficiency with CRM and operating systems (Salesforce/SFDC) and general database management
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Suite (Sheets, Docs, Slides)

Nice to Haves:

• Experience in healthcare diagnostics, oncology, or life sciences
• Familiarity with clinical and lab data systems (LIMS, EMR)
• Experience building dashboards or operational reporting

CHI: $65,000-$80,000

The expected salary range may vary for other locations. Actual salary may vary based on qualifications and experience. Tempus offers a full range of benefits, which may include incentive compensation, restricted stock units, medical and other benefits depending on the position.
