Deputy General Counsel

What you will be doing

The Deputy General Counsel, reporting to Neros’ General Counsel, is the Legal Department’s second in command. The DGC is an unusually strong and versatile attorney, capable of ranging across legal disciplines and solving problems with their non-lawyer partners throughout the business. The DGC is also a strategic leader, responsible for helping architect the legal function as Neros grows. But the DGC is also a hands-on builder, for whom no task is too small as long as it serves Neros’ goals.

You should have the following

• JD and membership in a state bar or the District of Columbia bar
• At least 8 years of experience in government, biglaw, or a combination
• Experience advising venture-backed companies
• A practical, solution-oriented approach to practicing law
• An ability to translate legal concepts to non-lawyer audiences
• An ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance
• A desire to stock the arsenal of democracy and defend the West

Nice to have

• Venture financing deals and M&A
• In-house startup experience
• Team sports experience

US Salary Range $249,000 – $349,000 USD

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations. Highly competitive equity grants are considered art of Neros' total compensation package.
