Design Engineer – Peripherals: Cables & Interfaces (Human)

Your mission & challenges

As a Design Engineer for peripherals, you're responsible for cable harnesses, feedthroughs, connectors, and mechanical interfaces across our robotic systems. Your goal: solutions that keep performing reliably in moving axes under bend-cycle and torsion loads.

Your main tasks include:

- Design and routing of cable harnesses in moving robot axes

- Selection and specification of cables, connectors, and feedthroughs

- Design of mechanical interfaces (mounting flanges, covers, seals)

- Ensuring lifetime reliability (bend cycles, torsion) through testing and supplier coordination

- Creating drawings and manufacturing documentation for the peripherals

Your Profile

- Degree or technician qualification in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, or similar

- Experience in cable harness or peripheral design (robotics/automotive a plus)

- Knowledge of cable carrier/torsion applications and connector systems

- Confident use of 3D CAD (cable-routing modules a plus)

- Hands-on, detail-oriented way of working

- Good command of German and English, written and spoken
