Position Summary:
The Client Portfolio Management (CPM) role sits between portfolio management and distribution/client service and is charged with commercializing Northern Trust Asset Management (NTAM) capabilities across all channels including wealth and institutional. Works independently; receives minimal guidance.
Responsibilities:
• Serves as a point of contact for technical support and basic knowledge across targeted NTAM strategies, and as a primary point of contact and subject matter expert on MMS strategies.
• Assists with the development of thought leadership driven by continued connectivity to the marketplace and consideration of client needs and industry trends.
• Partners with internal areas including sales, WCG (wealth client group), product management, marketing, and legal to ensure covered strategies are best represented to the marketplace.
• Assists with the development of additional capabilities that meet/anticipate client trends
• May lead projects or project steps within a broader project or may have accountability for on-going activities or objectives.
• Regularly attends manager research team meetings and keeps current on all research recommendation and reports.
• Works in a collaborative fashion with other areas of NTAM.
Requirements: • 5+ years investment related experience with related multi-manager investment, asset management and/or investment analysis experience.
• MBA or CFA Level 1 preferred
Competencies/Skills: • Develop Northern Trust acumen with the ability to leverage strategic relationships to optimize results.
• Knowledge of investments, financial markets, and asset management business
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to synthesize qualitative judgment and quantitative analysis into clear investment recommendations.
• Familiarity with generative AI tool to draft content, summarize report or streamline daily workflows is a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, analytical ability, thought leadership, decisiveness, strong judgement, and the ability to work effectively with internal and external clients, partners, and management.
• Highly flexible and adaptable to change
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, autonomous environment.
Salary Range:
$114,500 - 194,700 USD
Salary range is a good faith estimate of base pay. Northern Trust provides a comprehensive benefits package including retirement benefits (401k and pension), health and welfare benefits (medical, dental, vision, spending accounts and disability), paid time off, parental and caregiver leave, life & accident insurance, and other voluntary and well-being benefits. Northern Trust also provides a discretionary bonus program that may include an equity component.
