A Level IV maternity center represents the highest level of obstetric and neonatal care, designed to manage the most complex and high-risk pregnancies while also supporting routine deliveries. A labor and delivery unit within such a facility is highly specialized, fast-paced, and equipped with advanced technology and multidisciplinary expertise.
This particular unit is organized for both efficiency and patient-centered care. It includes 16 private labor rooms, each designed to support the full continuum of labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum recovery. These rooms are spacious and equipped with advanced fetal monitoring systems, adjustable birthing beds, and accommodations for support persons. Two of these labor rooms feature birthing tubs, offering hydrotherapy options for pain management and a more natural birthing experience.
A key feature of this unit is its 7-bed Obstetrics Emergency Department (OB ED), which serves as the front line for pregnant patients presenting with urgent concerns such as labor evaluation, bleeding, hypertension, or decreased fetal movement. This area operates 24/7 and is staffed by obstetricians, nurses, and support staff trained in rapid triage and stabilization.
