Senior Title Specialist

PLACE Corporate Careers

Remote - USRemote

Your Opportunity:

At PLACE, we're building a category-defining company at the intersection of real estate, technology, business services, and the consumer. As a profitable, hypergrowth startup, on the path to an IPO, our standards are high, our team is scrappy, and our commitment is to execute the best work of our lives.

This is YOUR CHANCE to shape the backbone of a company that's scaling rapidly and innovating boldly. As our Senior Title Specialist, you'll partner with the Director, REO Operations, founders, and executives to own oversight of title issue resolution on complex, aged, and high-risk title files, ensuring client SLAs are consistently met. If you thrive in complexity, entrepreneurial problem-solving, and believe in scaling through tech and AI, this is your PLACE.

Who Develops You: Director, REO Operations

What You're Great At:

You're a seasoned title professional who brings sharp attention to detail and strong critical thinking to even the messiest title files. You're comfortable digging into complex defects — legal descriptions, outstanding interest, mechanic's liens, judgments — and you don't stop until they're resolved. You communicate clearly and confidently, whether you're guiding a closing agent through a curative step, walking attorneys through an aged title review, or training the next generation of Title Officers. You thrive under tight timelines, manage a high volume of email with ease, and bring a team-first mindset to everything you do.

What You'll Do:

  • Conduct oversight into title issues identified in title commitments to ensure closing agents are curing title correctly
  • Review and maintain policies and procedures governing the title curative process
  • Address escalations from clients, closing agents, or other staff in a professional and timely manner
  • Ensure compliance with internal and external audit requirements outlined by the client
  • Manage a portfolio of complex title issues, including defects related to legal descriptions, outstanding interest, mechanic's liens, judgments, and other complex title defects
  • Facilitate aged title review meetings with title companies and attorneys, providing guidance on title resolution
  • Conduct training for Title Officers and Title Specialists on title curative steps to resolution
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Attention to detail
  • Proficient in Excel
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to solve problems; critical thinking skills
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
  • Effective communication skills; ability to respond to a high volume of emails
  • Team player; organized, with demonstrated ability to meet strict timelines
  • Associate or College Degree with a concentration in Real Estate preferred
  • 3–5 years of prior work-related experience preferred

Salary: $30-$40/hour, depending on experience

Why PLACE:

We believe people do their best work when they're trusted, supported, and surrounded by others who are equally driven. That's why this role includes a "work from the PLACE you work best" approach – at home, in an office, or on the move. Our competitive benefits include PTO as needed, comprehensive insurance coverage, a 401(k) match, stock option grants, and a stock purchase plan. Every team member is an owner, building the "PLACE" they are proud to call "my company."
