We are looking for a Lead Software Engineer to join our Vega software development team in Belgrade. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth, stability, and continuous improvement of our application.
About You – experience, education, skills, and accomplishments
- Minimum 6 years of professional experience in software development, including minimum of 3 years Java and Spring Boot experience on backend and minimum of 3 years of experience with PostgreSQL (or equivalent relational databases) and minimum 2 years of experience working with AWS (EC2, ECS, CloudFormation, CDK, AWS Glue, Redshift, S3, Lambda, MSK).
- Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent experience
- Proficiency in English
It would be great if you also have…
- Experience working on front end (Angular/React)
- Experience writing unit, integration, and automated UI tests (JUnit, Jest, Cypress, or equivalent).
- Experience with Kotlin and Python development.
- Experience working with Metabase for reporting and data visualization.
- Understanding of identity and access management solutions such as Keycloak.
- Knowledge of event streaming and messaging platforms, including Apache Kafka and AWS MSK.
- Familiarity with NoSQL databases such as Amazon DynamoDB or Apache Cassandra.
What will you be doing in this role?
- Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code in accordance with coding standards.
- Review other code to ensure clean, efficient, and maintainable code. Define architecture of software solution.
- Implements software for specifications of high complexity for limited scale systems, or medium to high complexity for large-scale systems.
- Responds to direct or indirect customer inquiries regarding function and design and attends customer meetings.
- Writes application technical documentation.
- Participates as a team member on various engineering projects.

About the Team
You will be joining agile team of 5 developers, and work alongside other developers and QA engineers already in Belgrade as well as in USA. You will report to Senior Menager in Software Engineering.
Hours of Work
This is a permanent, full-time position, with core engagement hours within CET time zone. This is a hybrid position; you will be expected to work from our Belgrade office 3 days every other week.
