As a Quality Specialist, you'll be responsible for determining priorities for the Quality Control team and for assigning tasks and duties to the Quality Control Inspectors to support operations. The role is hands-on and includes the performance of inspection activities as required to meet operational demand.
As a Quality Specialist, you will be responsible for:
- Engaging with the Site OTR and Shop Operations teams to identify priorities for inspection activities.
- Forecasting the resources needed to support operations based on demand and workload. Supervision and oversight of quality control inspection activities verifying and validating that specified requirements for products are met.
- Identifying training and competence requirements for the quality control function. Training, mentoring guiding and assessing the competence of the quality control inspectors
- Maintaining product standards through the application of rigorous inspection techniques. Inspecting new manufacture supplier provided parts, supplier repaired / refurbished parts and intra-company supplied parts, verifying compliance with specified technical requirements referenced within relevant drawings, specifications and standards.
- Following-up of Assembly and Refurbishment activities utilizing ITPs and other documentation for proper control.
- Inspecting components, sub-assemblies, assemblies and associated documentation to confirm compliance with Baker Hughes specifications and standards.
- Performing inspection activities at supplier premises, or other off-site locations, when required. Creating and maintaining accurate records of inspection activities.
- Using, controlling and caring for inspection metrology equipment and ensuring the valid calibration status of such items.
- Identifying non-conforming product, applying tagging / labelling, reporting via the Non Conformance Management (NCM), and ensuring controls are in place to prevent inadvertent use.
- Extracts Manufacturing Record Book (MRB) requirements from the contract. Defines MRB table of content and format. Gains Customer approval and roles out requirements to the document control team. Resolves project specific queries raised during Customer MRB review.
- Leading or participates in root cause analysis, non-conformance analysis, customer issue resolution analysis and other continuous improvement activities aimed at reducing cost of quality, improving on time delivery and customer satisfaction. Identifying and driving continuous improvement opportunities
- Adherence to and compliance with company and regulatory HSE requirements & expectations at all times. Adherence to and compliance with company and regulatory Quality management system requirements at all times
Fuel your passion
To be successful in this role you will:
- Have a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college
- Have a minimum of 5 years of experience in Quality Management systems and proven ability in policy and procedure writing.
- Have working knowledge of the Oil & Gas industry technical and regulatory framework.
- Have experience and familiar with the requirements of formal Quality Management Systems and standards, such as ISO 9001:2015 and API Q2 is preferably.
- Have detailed knowledge of requirements associated with the control of monitoring and measuring devices.
- Have NDT level II inspection certification.
- Have an engineering background, such as time-served mechanical or electrical technician.
- Lean Six Sigma Certification (GE DMAIC GB or BB/MBB Training, Test, Project completion, etc.)
- Familiar with industry standards such as API, NORSOK etc.
- Possesses supervisory skills and experience with flexible attitude to working patterns and willingness and ability to travel.
