About the Role:

As a Staff Accountant at Quincy Medical Group, you will support the financial operations of the organization through accurate accounting, reconciliations, financial statement review, and reporting. You will play an important role in maintaining reliable financial records and ensuring accounting activities are completed accurately and on time.

This role is a great fit for someone who enjoys detailed financial work, takes pride in accuracy, and can independently manage recurring accounting responsibilities while collaborating with the broader Finance team.

Schedule & Work Environment

  • Full-time, Monday-Friday, daytime hours.
  • Located on-site at Quincy Medical Group in Quincy, Illinois, with occasional remote work flexibility based on department needs.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Complete general ledger reconciliations and research discrepancies to maintain accurate financial records.
  • Perform bank reconciliations and ensure transactions are accurately reflected within the general ledger.
  • Review monthly financial statements for accuracy and identify items requiring additional research or correction.
  • Review sales tax activity and prepare applicable sales tax returns.
  • Complete quarterly inventory reviews and related accounting activities.
  • Prepare Foundation journal entries and financial statements.
  • Assist with month-end and other recurring accounting processes to support timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Maintain organized financial records and supporting documentation.
  • Collaborate with Finance team members and other departments to research and resolve accounting questions or discrepancies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support Finance operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  • Previous accounting, general ledger, reconciliation, or financial reporting experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of accounting principles and financial statements.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage recurring deadlines and priorities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and ability to learn and work effectively within accounting and financial systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to research and resolve discrepancies.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the Finance team and other departments.

The compensation for this role includes a base pay range of $49,524.80 - $74,297.60 annually, with actual pay determined by factors such as skills, experience, education, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. Additional compensation may be available through bonuses and other incentives. Base pay is only a portion of the total rewards package.
