SUMMARY:

As a Registered Nurse – Educator, your in-depth knowledge and outstanding communication skills are key in fostering quality care, enhanced wellness and ongoing growth and development throughout Rochester Regional.

Join our education team and play a key role in designing, coordinating, and delivering high-quality learning experiences for our clinical workforce. This is a dynamic, multifaceted position supporting high-volume educational programs at Riedman, with responsibilities extending well beyond classroom instruction.

A key focus will be creating engaging, interactive, and innovative learning experiences. We are looking for a creative and thoughtful educator who can move beyond traditional teaching strategies. Strong organizational, communication, curriculum development, and project management skills are essential for successfully balancing multiple programs, timelines, and educational initiatives.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Evaluation. Identify and validate the learning needs of customers by utilizing needs assessments, CQI results, performance improvement results, customer surveys and course evaluation results; document the effectiveness of educational offerings by developing, monitoring and assessing competencies; analyze cost to maximize the efficient utilization of resources
• Development. Create educational programs and curriculum that promote quality healthcare, employee/patient growth and personal wellness; provide leadership in areas of expertise as a resource to the customer; develop communications and audio-visual materials that are clear and concise
• Implementation. Facilitate programs to meet the identified learning needs of our customers; provide in-depth orientation, in-service and continuing education for staff or patients

ATTRIBUTES

• In lieu of degree, equivalent combination of education and healthcare related work experience will be considered
• Minimum of three (3) years of prior training/teaching experience in related educational field
• Kind, understanding and strong attention to detail

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• At least 6 months RN experience
• Diploma or Associate’s Degree in Nursing
• Registered Nurse license in New York State.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• For Diabetes Education - Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) or achievement of CDE status within two years of the start date in the position.
• For Wound Care - National Certification from Wound, Ostomy, Continence Nursing Certification Board (WOCNCB) 0r Wound Care Certification (WCC) from NAWCO required

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, health education, or instructional development or
• An equivalent combination of education and healthcare related work experience will be considered
• Minimum of 1 year prior training/teaching experience

BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association (AHA)American Heart Association (AHA), RN - Registered Nurse - New York State Education Department (NYSED)New York State Education Department (NYSED)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
