Assembly Associate

SUMMARY:

Assembly Associate provides support to keep assembly equipment and auto packers

running and producing good quality parts in an effort to meet daily production goals. This

positions loads, unloads and moves material within the assembly department while

maintaining their area and equipment cleanliness.

3rd Shift Opportunity

Schedule: 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Candidates must be available to work weekends. Employees will receive two days off during the week based on the production schedule.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may

be assigned.

• Be in assigned area at the start of your shift wearing all necessary personal protective

equipment and ready to begin work.

• Perform all tasks on the Assembly Associate Standard Worksheets within the

timeframes outlined and notate on the sheet when those tasks have been completed.

• Unjam parts and recycle assembly machines and auto packers (robots) in the safest

and most efficient manner possible in an effort to keep reaction time in the green.

• Read work order or follow oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be

moved.

• Load and unload materials by hand onto or from pallets, boxes, bins and shelves.

• Open containers, fill hoppers, bins, feeders and elevators as necessary.

• Maintain acceptable visual quality level of all parts produced. Perform “5 on Top” visual

quality inspections.

• Sort, audit, and check parts for grease, damage, missing components, proper tube

length, etc.

• Communicate any safety, quality, or efficiency concerns related to the equipment or

area to your Team Leader.

• Pack product as needed, weigh-count boxed production as needed and check orders

for completion.

• Close, tape, and label boxes of finished product.

• Maintain housekeeping, orderliness, and cleanliness of assigned area.

• Work closely with other associates in a “team” environment and maintain professional

relationships.

• Responsible for performing work at or above standard rate.

• Responsible for throwing scrap and trash in proper containers.

• Must follow all work rules and policies.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

GED or equivalent

One to three months related experience and/or training

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance

instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence

and effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other

employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers,

common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percentage.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written,

oral, or diagram form. Ability to handle problems involving several concrete variables in

standardized situations.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving

mechanical parts and is regularly exposed to risk of electrical shock. The employee is

work environment is usually loud
