About the role

Splunk’s Cloud Infrastructure organization builds scalable and resilient platforms for hosting Splunk’s enterprise software across AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform.

The Cloud Service Providers Platform team develops cloud services and automation using Golang, RESTful APIs, Kubernetes, and Terraform. You will collaborate with experienced engineers on small-to-medium features, building your cloud-native development and production operations expertise with guidance from the team.

What you’ll do

  • Develop, test, and maintain Golang services and RESTful APIs.
  • Contribute to cloud infrastructure and automation across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
  • Deploy and operate containerized services in Kubernetes.
  • Participate in technical design, implementation, testing, code reviews, and documentation.
  • Write clean, secure code and incorporate feedback from other engineers.
  • Monitor and triage production issues and participate in on-call rotations and post-incident reviews with team support.
  • Estimate assigned work and communicate progress, risks, and blockers.
  • Build expertise in a platform component and share your knowledge with teammates.
  • Help improve our software, automation, and engineering practices.

What you’ll bring

  • Experience developing and debugging software in Golang or another backend language, with an interest in working primarily in Go.
  • Understanding of software development fundamentals, data structures, algorithms, automated testing, and secure coding.
  • Experience developing or consuming RESTful APIs.
  • Familiarity with at least one major cloud provider: AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes, containers, and infrastructure as code such as Terraform.
  • Comfort working with Unix/Linux systems and command-line tools.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Approximately two years of related experience, or equivalent education and practical experience.

Nice to have

  • Experience with customer-facing SaaS or multi-tenant cloud services.
  • Exposure to distributed systems and reliability concepts.
  • Python or Bash scripting experience.
  • Familiarity with cloud networking, storage, identity, monitoring, or incident response.

You do not need to meet every preferred qualification. If the role interests you and you have relevant software engineering experience, we encourage you to apply.
