JOB SUMMARY:
Leads complex, cross-organizational functional safety and product cybersecurity programs by aligning scope, milestones, resources, dependencies, and risks with business objectives. Partners with management, engineering teams, and stakeholders to manage compliance and delivery, resolve escalations, and strengthen customer trust. Drives process improvement initiatives that enhance execution, workflow automation, reporting, forecasting, dashboards, metrics, and risk-informed decision-making. Provides technical direction and mentorship to cross-functional teams.
PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Technical Management and Execution – Functional Safety / Product Cybersecurity Management
- Applies functional safety and product cybersecurity expertise to define scope, identify risks and dependencies, estimate timelines, assess feasibility, determine testing needs, and forecast resources.
- Ensures product and service delivery meets applicable safety, security, compliance, supplier, and accessibility requirements.
- Coordinates rapid response to safety and security escalations, aligning teams and leadership on risk assessment, mitigation, and execution.
- Implements evolving safety and security processes and delivery standards aligned with regulatory requirements and Stoneridge best practices.
- Applies data to improve program execution, security operations, workflow automation, and reporting.
- Defines and develops incident response, vulnerability management, compliance initiatives, and improvements for safety and security compliance.
Program Oversight and Risk Management
- Manages complex safety and security issues, bottlenecks, dependencies, and risks, escalating when appropriate.
- Uses data and cost-benefit analysis to evaluate options, balance business requirements with technical constraints, and support risk-informed mitigation decisions.
Process Optimization and Continuous Improvement
- Designs and implements cross-functional objectives, workflows, and solutions that improve execution, visibility, reporting, and forecasting.
- Integrates continuous improvement practices across functional safety and product cybersecurity programs to strengthen compliance, reliability, resilience, and operational effectiveness.
- Identifies and resolves process gaps and defines requirements and configurations for existing and new development tools, where applicable.
Collaboration, Leadership, and Stakeholder Engagement
- Facilitates collaboration across organizations and technical disciplines to align priorities and support successful execution.
- Communicates program status, risks, opportunities, and recommendations to leadership.
- Builds and manages relationships with internal and external stakeholders to align needs, priorities, and commitments.
- Works cross-functionally to implement solutions and mitigate risks affecting customer satisfaction, delivery, and security outcomes.
- Provides technical direction and mentorship to cross-functional teams.
- Influences organizational change and adoption of functional safety and product cybersecurity initiatives.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE:
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Project Management, or MBA, or related work experience.
- Minimum 7 years' work experience as a Program Manager, with know-how and skills from working as a Program Manager with customer relationships in automotive industry.
- Demonstrated technical understanding and capabilities with Functional Safety, Product Cybersecurity, or similar product development within automotive industry.
- Solid understanding of PM discipline and processes with a strong drive and focus on results.
- Proven ability to lead and coach and get things done in cross-functional environments.
- Team player with excellent communication skills.
- Knowledge of automotive functional safety/product cybersecurity and safety such as ISO 21434, R155, R156, ISO 26262, or SOTIF.
