Internship Type: Full-Time, Paid
As an Applications Engineering Intern, you will assist and support other Applications Engineers. Learn from some of the most dedicated and technically competent engineers in the Automation Industry. JR Automation drives change by learning and innovating faster than anyone else. As a member of a project team, you’ll work alongside our Applications, Controls, Mechanical, and Build teams to support the design, build, program, and deployment of custom automated equipment.
What You’ll Do:
- Work with a team of applications engineers to design custom automation lines for customers nationwide in a variety of industries.
- Collaborate with applications, mechanical, and controls engineers to brainstorm and vet automation solutions, while learning about the automation industry.
- Create CAD models, conduct automation timing studies, and prepare quote materials for customers.
- Communicate directly with customers to gather requirements, show concept designs, and guide them through the automation process.
- Reach out to vendors for product quotes and subject matter expertise.
- Develop, build, and present an intern project to general management and applications team.

What You’ll Bring:
- High School graduate, or equivalent.
- Currently enrolled in an accredited college program pursuing an engineering degree.
Skills You’ll Have:
- Basic proficiency in CAD.
- Basic knowledge of electrical/pneumatic schematic drawing packages.
- Computer literacy in Excel, Word, and Outlook.
