Job Description:

The Sr. Director, Infrastructure leads the infrastructure function with accountability for platform ownership, reliability, and managed service governance across the enterprise. This role is responsible for delivering secure, scalable, and resilient infrastructure platforms across a hybrid environment (AWS and Azure), including enterprise compute, network, identity, database, and shared services, with full lifecycle ownership from design through operations and continuous improvement.

The position drives operational discipline, clear ownership, and execution consistency, while partnering closely with Security, Workplace Services, and Application teams to ensure aligned, high-performing platform delivery.

Work Arrangement:

  • Employees who live within 30 miles of the TMG home office are expected to follow a hybrid or in-office schedule. The initial training period may require additional in‑office days.

Accountabilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of infrastructure engineers across cloud, compute, network, database, identity, and shared services domains.
  • Own end-to-end infrastructure platforms, including AWS (primary compute and data platform), Azure tenant services, Windows and Linux environments, network (LAN/WAN/WLAN, DNS, routing), database platforms, identity platforms (Active Directory, Okta), and shared services (backup, voice, collaboration, print).
  • Ensure platform availability, performance, scalability, and resilience across all infrastructure services.
  • Establish and enforce platform standards, operational processes, and clear ownership models across all domains.
  • Own disaster recovery readiness, testing, and recovery validation across infrastructure and database platforms.
  • Govern all infrastructure managed service providers, including cloud, network, and patching services, ensuring SLA performance and accountability.
  • Define provider scope, enforce service levels, and lead vendor performance reviews, escalations, and issue resolution.
  • Serve as the escalation point for major platform incidents and cross-domain issues.
  • Enforce clear ownership and escalation paths for all infrastructure initiatives, whether project-based or operational.
  • Define and implement infrastructure strategy, standards, and roadmap across all infrastructure domains.
  • Drive automation, infrastructure-as-code, and standardization to improve efficiency, scalability, and reliability.
  • Own and govern CI/CD pipelines and production deployment processes, ensuring reliable, repeatable, and controlled release execution across environments.
  • Identify and eliminate operational inefficiencies, manual processes, and fragmented ownership models.
  • Own infrastructure cost visibility, capacity planning, and optimization across platforms.
  • Manage cloud costs within approved budgets across AWS and Azure environments.
  • Provide oversight of cloud consumption and cost drivers across AWS and Azure environments.
  • Partner with Security, IT Operations, and Application teams to ensure platform stability, alignment, and effective execution.
  • Provide operational input into architecture and design decisions to ensure scalability, reliability, and supportability.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • 10+ years in infrastructure engineering, cloud, and enterprise operations.
  • 7+ years leading infrastructure or platform engineering teams.
  • Strong experience across AWS, Azure tenant services, network, and compute platforms.
  • Experience overseeing managed service providers and vendor performance.
  • Proven experience in incident management and operational leadership.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive operational and organizational change while improving execution in complex environments.
  • Strong accountability mindset with a track record of establishing clear ownership across teams and vendors.
  • Ability to operate with urgency and decisiveness in high-impact production environments.
  • Experience defining and enforcing platform standards and operating models across multiple infrastructure domains.

Preferred:

  • Experience building high-performing engineering teams with clear ownership and execution discipline.
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code and automation.
  • Experience with disaster recovery and resilience programs.
  • Strong familiarity with cloud cost management (FinOps) and budgeting processes.
  • Experience leading managed services operating models and improving provider accountability.

Pay Range:

Anticipated Hiring Range:

  • $170,000 - $220,000 annual base salary depending on experience, qualifications, and geographic location
