Mobile Software Engineer Intern (Social) - 2027 Start

Team Introduction We are the messaging team on TikTok. Our team's mission is to facilitate meaningful user connections through TikTok's messaging experience, which is still in its infancy. We achieve our mission by building and shipping tools that help our users more easily connect and share the things they care about.

We are looking for talented individuals to join us for an internship. Our internship program offers students hands-on experience, industry exposure, and opportunities to apply their knowledge to real-world challenges while building a strong foundation for personal and professional growth. Interns will gain practical experience, explore potential career paths, and participate in social events, learning programs, and development workshops alongside industry professionals. Responsibilities: - Create and refine high performance mobile apps that push the limits of mobile technology; - Work closely with our product team to conceptualize, develop and launch new and innovative social features; - Design, architect and implement well-tested Android software which powers social experiences in TikTok; - Carry out code reviews to guarantee code quality

Minimum Qualifications - Currently pursuing an Undergraduate in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or a related discipline. - Proficiency in coding & scripting languages such as C/C++, Java, Kotlin, Objective-C, Swift, JavaScript or Python

Preferred Qualifications - Solid understanding of computer science and strong problem solving skills - Good team communication and collaboration skills - Prior internship experience in mobile development (Android/iOS apps) is a plus - Passion and experience building consumer-facing products is a huge plus
