The Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Health Information Management (HIM) teaches online and in-person courses and reports to the HIM Chair in the KU School of Health Professions. The role focuses on teaching and supporting accreditation compliance for undergraduate HIM and graduate health informatics academic programs. Teaching duties include teaching health informatics courses to undergraduate and graduate audiences. Responsibilities further include departmental, school, university, and industry service, participation in student recruitment and outreach, as well as mentoring students. Course assignments vary by departmental needs. This non-tenure position’s rank and salary depend on the candidate’s education and experience.

Required Qualifications
Education: Master’s degree in related discipline such as health informatics, data analytics, health information management, or similar.
This position requires a formal degree in the cited discipline area(s) to ensure that candidates have the foundational knowledge and skill set required to perform the duties of the position. The level of degree is based on accreditation requirements, institutional standards of academic and professional excellence, alignment with peer institution benchmarks, and contributes to the credibility and effectiveness of the role within the university community.
