Reporting to the SVP, Head of Global Clients, and sponsored by Visa’s Executive Committee, this Vice President will lead a globally matrixed account team that strategically manages the comprehensive growth agenda and client relationships with this critically important and complex ecommerce partner.

Focused on delivering step-change growth for both organizations, the Vice President is the accountable Global Account Executive representing Visa as the client’s dedicated executive contact and lead advocate within Visa. Championing Visa’s capabilities and vision to key stakeholders across the client’s multiple functions and operating geographies, this role will drive an applied growth agenda that deepens the level of engagement as a trusted strategic partner by bringing the best of Visa to the client and helping them win in their markets through Visa’s differentiated products and services. With the support of the Global Client Team’s bespoke “white glove” operating model, this role will orchestrate unified execution across internal stakeholders (Product, Risk, Marketing, Operations, Finance, regional sales, market level sales, etc.) to increase adoption of Visa’s payment products and programs.
This is a full-time position located in London, UK.
Specific Responsibilities
Proven Strategic & Consultative Selling
- Develop and execute a multi-year strategic account growth plan in coordination with Visa’s 2030 aspirations and the client’s growth strategy. Manage and coordinate all business relationships at a global, regional, and market level to ensure that Visa is the payment provider of choice while profitably growing Visa’s business. Responsible and accountable for growing the share, booked sales, and net revenue of this global client. Demonstrated experience exceeding annual sales targets across multiple business units and product sets.
- Have a passion for product-driven solutions, with experience co-creating bespoke solutions to deliver new capabilities to market with the client.
- Drive superior engagement with client’s executive management while also overseeing the day-to-day aspects of leading a multi-regional account.
- Specifically, the candidate will need to be able to influence a wide set of internal business partners to ensure that the engagement is aligned at all points of interaction so that the business delivers against its strategic and financial targets.
- Lead complex, high-value commercial negotiations across geographies, products, and stakeholder groups, balancing long-term partnership value with strong protection of Visa’s strategic and economic interests.
- Provide exemplary leadership and focus to drive results as “One Visa” and develop solutions effectively given complex buyer decision-making both in local markets and at a global headquarters level. Create commercial frameworks to implement innovative solutions and Value-added services that drive the client’s global and/or pan-regional strategic priorities.
- Lead the development of account plans and drive global and in-market engagements in collaboration with key stakeholders to deliver on these plans.
Deep and Comprehensive Payments Industry Knowledge
- Demonstrate leadership in setting global payments strategy for the client in association with internal Visa stakeholders and the client executive team.
- Commercial and operational understanding of the role of acquirer processor platforms in the commerce ecosystem.
- Deep knowledge in all forms of consumer and commercial payments in different markets around the globe is foundational for this role to serve the global client’s businesses.
- Fluency across the spectrum of risk, fraud, and identity services to operate a global, best-in-class payments business.
- Significant working knowledge across all forms of money movement, including cross-border, digital wallets, and real time payments account-to-account schemes.
- Comfortable having technical and platform conversations, including cloud environments and operations, tech stack, consumer apps, and API services to drive co-creation amongst parties that will result in transformational shifts to drive growth.
Financial and Analytics Acumen
- General management experience across finance, particularly forecasting client and Visa business performance. Demonstrated proficiency in managing the key financial drivers of business performance including accurate forecasting of cost, revenue, and risk.
- Manage contracts and the commercial aspects of Visa’s business, ensuring contractual targets and obligations are met or exceeded. Proactive and comprehensive approach to proposals for extension and renewal of contracts.
- Manage operating expense budgets and participate in annual operating plan efforts.
Team Success Orientation – Enable and Champion a Collective Success Model
- Responsible for direct and indirect management of a global team of account executives whose focus is growing Visa’s business across all strategic business lines – including consumer payments, value added services, and commercial / money movement solutions.
- Demonstrated track record of leadership in managing a highly engaged and accountable high-performance team.

The success of this role is highly dependent on global and functional collaboration across Visa.

Qualifications
- 15 - 20 years of experience in either banking / financial services sector or financial technology sector experience with significant amount of time dedicated to strong B2B sales performance in the payments industry.
- A deep understanding of card network payments, cross border money movement, commercial and treasury programs, and merchant acquiring is required.
- A demonstrated ability to implement strategic initiatives, policies and operational decisions as a trusted advisor with senior-level executives at large, global, complex organizations.
- Proven credibility, influence and ability to lead complex, high-pressure negotiations at the highest levels across client, partner, and internal stakeholder organizations, securing commercially strong outcomes in challenging environments.
