Responsibilities

  • Handle preventative maintenance of all equipment and update appropriate logs.
  • Handle all repairs of equipment including motors, starters, breakers, chillers and associated equipment throughout the entire building.
  • Diagnose, service, and repair complex building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, boilers, and mechanical equipment.
  • Troubleshoot advanced equipment issues involving motors, starters, breakers, chillers, and control systems.
  • Execute and lead preventive maintenance tasks in accordance with operational standards, ensuring accurate documentation and logs.
  • Perform installations, modifications, and upgrades of electrical and mechanical systems, including support for renovation projects.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical schematics to complete repairs and installations.
  • Respond to guest and operational service requests in a timely, professional manner, ensuring high-quality resolution.
  • Respond to and manage emergency situations such as power failures, system breakdowns, and safety incidents.
  • Conduct routine inspections and shift rounds to identify, diagnose, and resolve potential system issues proactively.
  • Support and ensure proper execution of the work order system, including follow-up, prioritization, and completion tracking.
  • Maintain and repair equipment across guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house spaces, and property infrastructure.
  • Assist with energy conservation initiatives by identifying system inefficiencies and recommending improvements.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment, including engineering spaces, tools, and equipment.
  • Coordinate with contractors and vendors, providing technical oversight when specialized work is required.
  • Support and mentor junior technicians, sharing technical knowledge and best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety standards, regulations, and company policies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule in order to accomplish all major responsibilities. This may include some evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • 5+ years of experience in building maintenance or engineering, preferably in hospitality or a similar environment
  • Strong multi-trade technical expertise (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, mechanical systems)
  • Ability to diagnose and repair complex equipment and system failures independently
  • Experience reading blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
  • Trade school certification or technical training (HVAC, electrical, mechanical, or related field)
  • Professional certifications in HVAC, refrigeration, or electrical systems preferred
  • Basic computer skills and experience with maintenance management systems
  • Must be able to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to stand and walk up to 8 hours.
  • Must possess legal work authorization in the United States
