Our team is looking for a visionary Senior Manager, Software Engineering who will lead, grow, and inspire engineering teams building this next-generation platform. In this role, you will define the technical strategy, foster engineering excellence, and lead the delivery of highly scalable, robust, and intelligent cloud solutions. You will be responsible for driving the architectural roadmap for the core engines powering associate-built AI agents, automated evaluation workflows, and enterprise-grade governance pipelines while partnering closely with product and cross-functional leadership.

You will operate at the intersection of AI innovation and enterprise scale, guiding your team through complex business and technical challenges that span multiple countries, massive data scale, and enterprise-wide adoption.

What you will do

• Manage and lead developers to successfully build and deploy cutting-edge AI platform solutions at scale, impacting multi-million-dollar businesses.
• Work with multiple teams and guide them on technical aspects, set quality standards, participate in design discussions, and drive technical decisions across cloud and intelligent platform services.
• Architecture & Design Reviews across teams for high-scale enterprise platforms.
• Engage with Product Management and Business to drive the agenda, set your priorities, and deliver awesome products.
• Drive design, development, implementation, and documentation for core platform engines, AI agent workflows, and governance pipelines.
• Build, test, and deploy cutting-edge Agentic solutions at scale, impacting associates of Walmart worldwide.
• Interact with Walmart engineering teams across geographies to leverage expertise and contribute to the tech community.
• Drive the success of the implementation by applying technical skills to design and build enhanced processes and technical solutions in support of strategic initiatives.
• You will use your engineering experience and technical skills to develop highly scalable, robust, and intelligent platform solutions. You will work with Engineering Leads/architects.
• Work closely with Architects and cross-functional teams to follow established practices for the delivery of solutions meeting QCD (Quality, Cost & Delivery) within established architectural guidelines.
• Work with senior leadership to chart out the future roadmap of the products and platform capabilities.
• Participate in hiring and build teams, enabling them to be high-performing agile engineering teams.
• Interact closely for requirements with Business owners and technical teams both within India and across the globe.

What you will bring

• B.Tech. / B.E. / M.Tech. / M.S. in Computer Science or relevant discipline.
• 12+ years of experience in design and development of highly scalable applications and platform development.
• 4+ years experience managing an engineering team.
• 5+ years of experience in design and development of highly scalable applications and platform development in product-based companies or R&D divisions.
• Hosted & Participated in Architecture Review & Design/Code Review events.
• Hands-on System Designing experience for large-scale distributed platform architectures.
• Strong computer science fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, design patterns.
• Extensive hands-on experience building services using these technologies (Java, Scala, Springboot, Microservices, NodeJs, Python).
• Hands-on experience in web technologies like React JS/Angular JS, JavaScript, TypeScript, CSS.
• In-depth knowledge and hands-on working experience on RESTful web services.
• Good knowledge of Microservices and event-driven architectures.
• Working knowledge of SQL and NoSQL database technologies.
• Knowledge of Linux platform.
• Knowledge of unit testing frameworks (JUnit, Jest, Spock, etc.) and code quality control platforms like Sonar.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (IaaS/PaaS).
• CI/CD development environments/tools: Git, Maven, Gradle, Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Azure DevOps.
• Experience in implementing Distributed Cache (Redis/Hazelcast).
• Well-versed with Logging and Metrics tools and technologies (ELK/Splunk/Grafana).
• Solid understanding of modern Gen AI, Agentic platform architectures, or intelligent automation, and how to apply them to build scalable software solutions that improve business workflows.
• Demonstrated end-to-end ownership for development and design of at least one cloud-based or platform engineering project.
• Strong hands-on development skills to prototype technical solutions.
• Strong desire to drive change, and ability to adapt to change quickly. Willing to learn new and emerging technologies.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills—including negotiation, facilitation, and consensus-building skills; ability to influence and persuade, without direct control.
• Practitioner of Agile (Scrum) methodology.
