Должностные обязанности хореографа в спортшколе включают: Обучение танцам, постановку и создание танцев с участием танцевальных коллективов. Постановка новых и возобновление ранее поставленных представлений, концертных программ, подготовка и проведение конкурсов. Хореографические постановки, в том числе индивидуальные и коллективные, в соответствии с правилами проведения спортивных соревнований. Проведение коллективных и индивидуальных занятий, репетиций с подростками и молодёжью, занятыми в хореографических постановках. Самостоятельная подготовка исполнения несложных ансамблевых номеров и хореографических сцен, обеспечение их художественного качества. Участие в разработке тренировочных программ и планов подготовки спортсменов. Анализ подготовки спортсменов и внесение предложений по их корректировке. Ведение работы по формированию репертуара, культурно-просветительской деятельности. Ведение документации по установленной форме. Развитие музыкальных и хореографических способностей и эмоциональной сферы, творческой деятельности подростков и молодёжи. Формирование эстетического вкуса занимающихся, используя различные формы организации музыкальной и хореографической деятельности. Обеспечение соблюдения правил по охране труда и пожарной безопасности.

Согласно Единому квалификационному справочнику должностей руководителей, специалистов и служащих, раздел Квалификационные характеристики должностей работников в области физической культуры и спорта, утверждённому Приказом Минздравсоцразвития России от 15.08.2011 №916н, к хореографу в спортивной школе предъявляются следующие требования: Высшее профессиональное образование по направлению подготовки Хореографическое искусство и дополнительное профессиональное образование в области физической культуры и спорта без предъявления требований к стажу работы. Среднее профессиональное образование по направлению подготовки Хореографическое искусство и дополнительное профессиональное образование в области физической культуры и спорта, стаж работы в хореографических коллективах не менее 3 лет .
