Our client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated MySQL Database Administrator to join their team on a 12-month contract. This role offers the opportunity to work on critical database infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, security, and scalability in a dynamic environment. As a key member of the team, you will manage MySQL databases, optimize queries, and implement best practices in a hybrid onsite setting, contributing to impactful projects that drive business success. Required Skills

  • Extensive experience with MySQL database management and administration
  • Proven expertise in database schema design and migrations
  • Proficiency in writing and fine-tuning SQL queries
  • Strong familiarity with performance monitoring and optimization tools
  • Hands-on Linux command-line skills for database and server management
  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot database performance issues
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively across teams and explain technical concepts clearly

Nice to Have Skills

  • Experience with database backup and recovery strategies
  • Knowledge of tools like MySQL Workbench, Percona Toolkit, or similar utilities
  • Exposure to cloud-based database solutions such as AWS RDS or Google Cloud SQL
  • Familiarity with NoSQL databases
