The posting

At 2K, we create some of the most iconic and culture-shaping video games in entertainment, including NBA® 2K, one of the top-selling franchises in the world, and legendary titles like BioShock®, Borderlands®, Mafia, Sid Meier’s Civilization®, and XCOM®, as well as fan favorites WWE® 2K, TopSpin®, and PGA TOUR® 2K. We build unforgettable experiences by pushing the boundaries of creativity, authenticity and innovation across every genre.

Our portfolio is brought to life by some of the most influential game development studios in the world. Visual Concepts, Firaxis Games, Hangar 13, Cat Daddy Games, 31st Union, Cloud Chamber, Gearbox, HB Studios, and 2K SportsLab create world-class experiences across platforms.

But what truly powers 2K is our people.

We believe the best ideas come from teams that feel empowered, supported, and inspired. As an equal opportunity employer, we are committed to fostering a diverse, inclusive workplace where people are encouraged to come as they are and do their best work.

What We Need

2K is looking for a Senior Manager, Social & Community to own the community management and social marketing vision, strategy, and execution across two of our marquee sports franchises: WWE 2K and PGA TOUR 2K. You will lead a team of Digital Community & Social Media Managers and a roster of external agency partners, setting the standard for how 2K shows up on the platforms where our players live — Steam, Discord, Reddit, YouTube, Twitch, TikTok, and the console storefronts.

These are live service sports titles with distinct, deeply invested audiences: WWE 2K's creative and roster-obsessed community, and PGA TOUR 2K's career players, golf faithful, and course designers. Community is the heart of this role. You are the voice of both communities inside 2K, the player advocate who translates sentiment into action with our Development and Global Marketing teams. Social marketing is how you scale that voice outward: you will steer platform-specific social strategies and campaigns that grow our presence, build cultural relevance for our brands, and promote positive sentiment across our player base.

You will build and scale community and social channels, own the listening and analytics practice for both franchises, and report regularly to marketing, studio, and leadership stakeholders on what players need while driving meaningful, player-first change in-game and out. This is a strategic and hands-on role: you will set direction, and you will also roll up your sleeves alongside your team during live seasons, roster updates, and launch windows. Proactivity, excellent communication, and the ability to navigate ambiguity are crucial for success.

Reporting to the Senior Director, Integrated Marketing, the ideal candidate is a sports gaming enthusiast with a genuine feel for competitive and creative communities, and a track record of activating and growing them in innovative, measurable ways. The ideal candidate will be able to join us in office Tuesday–Thursday of each week in our Los Angeles office.

What You'll Do

Team Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Digital Community & Social Media Managers across the WWE 2K and PGA TOUR 2K franchises, setting clear goals, growth plans, and standards of excellence.
  • Own the community and social operating model for both franchises. Which will include staffing, coverage during live windows, escalation paths, tone of voice, publishing cadence, and moderation standards and hold agency partners accountable to it.
  • Manage external community, social, and moderation agencies, including scopes of work, budgets, response messaging plans, and moderation guides, primarily for Discord and Steam reviews/forums.
  • Serve as the senior community and social voice in the room: make critical decisions quickly, take a measured approach to risk, and be willing to have the hard conversations with cross-functional partners when the player experience is at stake.

Digital Community Relations (Voice of the Consumer)

  • Set the strategy for how we engage and build relationships with players across Steam, Discord, Reddit, and emerging platforms, and ensure your team executes it consistently across both franchises.
  • Partner with Brand, Creator/Influencer, Communications, Insights & Analytics, and our Development partners at Visual Concepts and HB Studios to champion the needs and wants of our players and improve our game experiences.
  • Own the feedback loop for both title communities, and find ways to cross-leverage learnings between WWE 2K, PGA TOUR 2K, and the wider 2K sports portfolio.
  • Use analytics and social listening tools to identify and quantify player needs, and turn them into regular, decision-ready reporting for marketing, studio, and executive stakeholders.
  • Guide the marketing, social, and communications teams in coordinating and executing community-facing requests of the development teams, including patch and season communications, roster and course update messaging, and live issue response.

Social Marketing

  • Serve as the social marketing expert for both franchises, collaborating with cross-functional teams to prioritize and streamline efforts while managing expectations, timelines, and team needs to execute social workstreams and campaigns.
  • Develop platform-specific global social marketing strategies in collaboration with Global Social Marketing, increasing our presence across channels and building cultural relevance for our games and brands.
  • Develop and execute social marketing campaigns built from audience insights and aligned to our identified target audiences, from annual launches through live seasons.
  • Steer creative ideation and social content development needed to launch best-in-class campaigns, bringing good taste in content and a clear eye for which approaches will move the needle.
  • Ensure community insight feeds social creative and social performance feeds community strategy, so the two disciplines compound rather than run in parallel.

Community & Social Growth Strategy

  • Define community growth strategies for both franchises and every platform where our experiences are featured, in partnership with cross-functional publishing partners.
  • Develop and execute the flagship community programs that celebrate our fan base for the advocates they are. Think about creator showcases, community councils, in-game creation and course design spotlights, tournaments and seasonal moments — stoking the core while incentivizing new players to join.
  • Identify key creator opportunities in partnership with Creator/Influencer Marketing that engage and grow our communities in the most creative and positive ways possible.
  • Ladder all community and social activations up to the master Go-To-Market strategies for annual releases, seasons, and live content beats.
  • Develop community and social engagement and growth performance metrics for both franchises, providing in-depth performance analysis and consistent reporting on campaign performance, channel engagement, and player sentiment — with a keen sense of what, why, and how metrics need to be delivered on.
  • Stay ahead of new platforms, tools, formats, and trends, and bring recommendations to leadership on where 2K sports should be showing up next.

Collaboration and Communication

  • Collaborate with cross-functional publishing partners (Global Brand Marketing, Communications, Creator/Influencer Marketing, Product Development, Insights & Analytics, Partnerships & Licensing, Legal, and the studios) in defining community and social marketing strategies and campaigns.
  • Regularly partner, present, and report to key stakeholders on strategies, plans, findings, results, and recommendations that influence product and marketing roadmaps in service of our players.
  • Communicate and evangelize goals and plans so internal teams, agencies, and development partners are working in lock-step toward the same outcomes.

What Will Make You A Great Fit

  • 6–8+ years working in digital community building and/or social marketing roles within gaming, media, or entertainment, including experience leading people and/or agency teams.
  • A proven track record supporting live service and/or annualized titles, and comfort with the cadence of seasons, patches, and recurring launch windows.
  • Innate knowledge, experience, and passion for engaging and growing core entertainment communities, developing meaningful ground-floor relationships that create fans for life.
  • Skilled at crafting integrated social marketing strategies across channels and touchpoints, with a deep understanding of community and social platform nuances globally (especially Steam, Reddit, Twitch, YouTube, Discord, and TikTok) and of the creator and influencer ecosystem.
  • Strong knowledge and proficiency with community, social, and reporting tools such as LevelUp, Radarly, Discord analytics, Tubular, and Sprinklr, and the ability to build reports and feedback processes that land with wide cross-functional teams.
  • You can aggregate, synthesize, and analyze data, and communicate key learnings cross-functionally with a clear point of view and a recommendation attached.
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to build long-term relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Powerful presentation skills, with the ability to create compelling presentations that support your strategy and thinking, and to present to peers, reports, and company leadership.
  • Strong team management skills and cross-functional leadership competency, with an understanding of a matrixed organization and how to navigate it while keeping multiple franchises moving at once.
  • A strong leader who can make critical decisions quickly, take a measured approach to risk, and have the hard conversations when needed.
  • Highly collaborative, intellectually curious, and proactive about reaching out to build key relationships internally and externally.
  • Highly organized, timely, and communicative, with the flexibility to pivot when live service realities change the plan.
  • Good taste in content and an eye for which community and social approaches will move the needle.
  • Willing to roll up your sleeves and get things done.
  • Extensive knowledge of the video game landscape and a wide array of genres and communities, with specific enthusiasm for sports games — WWE 2K and PGA TOUR 2K experience strongly preferred, along with a real interest in wrestling and/or golf fandom and culture.
  • Experience working with global or international teams is a plus.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
