Job Summary

Join as an Azure Database Reliability Engineer (DBRE) to lead migration of on-premises databases to Azure, automate database operations, and enable scalable, reliable cloud database platforms for enterprise application teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead migration of Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server databases from on-premises to Azure database services, including Azure SQL, Oracle on Azure, and PostgreSQL, ensuring secure and scalable cloud adoption
  • Design and implement automated, self-service database capabilities using Golang, Infrastructure as Code, and platform tooling to enhance operational efficiency and reliability
  • Operate database platforms with a DevOps/SRE mindset, applying “you build it, you run it” principles to maintain platform reliability and observability at scale
  • Collaborate effectively with application teams, platform engineers, and vendors to onboard databases and resolve operational challenges
  • Apply knowledge of Azure architecture, cloud operations, and platform reliability principles to optimize database services and compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Utilize prior software engineering or cloud platform enablement experience to support continuous improvement of database automation and migration processes
  • Navigate complex enterprise environments pragmatically to deliver reliable database solutions aligned with business needs

Preferred competencies and qualifications

  • Experience migrating databases from Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server to PostgreSQL to support modernization efforts
  • Azure certifications related to Azure Database, Azure Architecture, or Site Reliability Engineering to validate cloud expertise
  • Proficiency with database tooling for assessment and migration, such as schema conversion and compatibility analysis tools
  • Experience working in agile frameworks like SAFe across multiple teams and initiatives to drive collaborative delivery
