Job Title Reliability Engineer*

As a Reliability Engineer you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Leading reliability improvement projects for critical equipment, processes, or systems.
  • Applying reliability tools such as root cause analysis, failure mode and effects analysis, reliability-centered maintenance, risk assessment, and statistical analysis.
  • Driving reduction of unplanned downtime, repeat failures, maintenance costs, and operational losses.
  • Developing and implementing reliability strategies for assets, equipment, or production systems.
  • Supporting startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, and stabilization of equipment or processes.

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering or Science discipline (completed and verified prior to start). and Six (6) years of maintenance, engineering, manufacturing and/or plant engineering experience in a private, public, government or military environment

OR

  • Associates Degree or higher discipline (completed and verified prior to start) and Eight (8) years of maintenance, engineering, manufacturing and/or plant engineering experience in a private, public, government or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Master's degree in Reliability and Statistical Engineering from an accredited institution
  • Certified Reliability Engineer (ASQ), Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (SMRP)
  • Seven (7) years of experience as a Maintenance Technician, Maintenance Planner, Maintenance Engineer, Maintenance Supervisor, Process Engineer, or Reliability Engineer with a proven history of reducing downtime in a private, public, government or military environment
  • Skills include knowledge and application of Root cause analysis and corrective action methods, Failure mode and effects analysis, Reliability-centered maintenance, Preventive and predictive maintenance strategies, Condition monitoring technologies, Equipment criticality analysis, Maintenance optimization, Asset lifecycle management, Statistical analysis of reliability or maintenance data, Engineering design and maintainability principles, Manufacturing process troubleshooting, Safety, health, environmental, and quality requirements, and Project management and financial analysis.

Work location:

  • Springfield, MO

Travel: May include up to 20% domestic

Relocation: May be authorized

Applicable to US Applicants Only:The expected compensation range for this position is $145,676 - $178,049, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience.
