Job description:

Performs a variety of technical tasks involved in operating radiographic/x-ray equipment and making radiographs of designated parts of the body. Assists in all invasive procedures performed in the Cardiac Cath Lab and/or Special Procedures/Electrophysiology lab. The staff in this position will work as part of a team with physician, registered nurses, and cardiovascular technicians.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Demonstrates responsibility for x-ray equipment and image quality in all diagnostic and interventional procedures.

2. Adjusts equipment for proper radiographic exposure techniques in accordance with radiation safety guidelines.

3. Positions patients for certain anatomical view using immobilization and protective equipment as necessary.

4. Accurately processes images, matched with appropriate labels and information for interpretation.

5. Daily responsibility for checking that all procedures were properly transmitted and archived.

6. Functions as a scrub person and a procedure table panner in all diagnostic and interventional procedures

7. Functions as a monitor person in all diagnostic and interventional procedures.

8. Rotates calls for all emergency and add-on procedures.

9. Demonstrates understanding of radiation safety and sterile techniques.

Other Responsibilities:

1. Adheres to downtime procedures.

2. Adheres to established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives.

3. Performs both essential and non-essential job functions in a safe manner as identified by CFMC.

4. Demonstrates an understanding of and models the mission and core values of CFMC through behavior and attitude.

5. Enhances professional growth and development by accessing educational programs, job related literature, in-service meetings, and workshops/seminars.

6. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Citizenship / Work Permit / Visa Status

US citizens & Green Card holders

Must-Haves

  • Current Licensure in the State of Illinois, and
  • Current Registration by ARRT
  • BLS certificate
  • Graduation from an approved program in Radiologic Technology

Nice to Haves

  • Also:
