Position Summary

Seeker Strategies is looking for the next fantastic hire to join our team! If you have 2+ years of experience in political, nonprofit, or corporate communications and are looking for your next challenge, get in touch.

As an Associate at Seeker Strategies, you will work on behalf of various organizations, including labor unions, nonprofits, small businesses, executives, progressive causes, and Fortune 500 companies. Our work touches on top issues facing Texas and the nation at large, and we pride ourselves on providing our clients with both tried- and - true and creative solutions.

About Seeker Strategies

Seeker Strategies is a progressive, Black - and Brown-owned communications and advocacy firm that guides clients through an ever-changing cultural, political, and regulatory landscape.

WE engage with brands of consequence in the public and private sectors, but we are forgotten in politics, where earning hearts and minds means everything, Our approach is informed by four combined decades of experience in:

  • Led non-profit organizations, legislative offices, and political campaigns;
  • Designing brand and marketing materials for dozens of organizations and people;
  • Speaking on the record and developing Texas and national media relationships;

  • Engineering millions of individual interactions with everyday people.

  • Improving public schools by taking care of our teachers, and
  • Protecting voters from the organized Republican effort to dismantle democracy.

Requirements

A successful candidate has:

  • 1-3 years of relevant experience in writing, research, and media-intensive positions such as political campaigns, media government, agencies, or similar organizations.
  • Experience placing national print and broadcast stories; experience with ethnic media outlets is a plus.
  • Experience developing media strategies and building relationships with reporters.
  • Strong writing and research skills with thorough knowledge of AP Style.
  • Working knowledge of social media strategies for communications campaigns.
  • Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • The ability to effectively manage multiple projects and handle competing deadlines.

We prefer that the Associate work in at least a hybrid capacity but are open to the position being fully remote. This position may require occasional night and weekend hours.

Even if working entirely in person, the person in this position must be able to communicate with colleagues and partners via phone including conference and video calls, and written communication, such as email. The position requires the ability to work on a computer for all or part of the workday.
