Build a career that matches all your initiative with an impressive dose of innovation. From cutting-edge resources and a collaborative environment to the freedom to make an impact and more, you’ll find the ingredients you need at LPL Financial to shape your success while helping clients pursue their financial goals.

Help employees and leaders build the capabilities needed to perform at their best. As a Senior Learning and Development Consultant, you will lead complex, high-impact learning products from needs analysis through design, delivery, and evaluation. You will combine advanced learning expertise, stakeholder consultation, technology, and data to create practical solutions that improve readiness, adoption, and on-the-job performance.

Job Overview:

The Senior Learning and Development Consultant is a senior individual contributor within the People Team. This role independently leads complex learning products, diagnoses performance and capability needs, and advises business partners on the most effective solution. The consultant designs and delivers scalable learning experiences across instructor-led, virtual, digital, blended, and performance-support formats; establishes consistent practices; and evaluates effectiveness using learner, performance, and business evidence. The role may guide project teams and coach colleagues but does not have direct people-management responsibility.

Responsibilities:

  • Consult with business leaders and People Team partners to diagnose performance, knowledge, skill, and capability gaps; distinguish training needs from process, tool, communication, or reinforcement needs; and recommend practical solutions.
  • Lead complex learning products from intake and needs analysis through design, development, implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement.
  • Design learner-centered curricula, learning journeys, facilitator guides, job aids, simulations, assessments, digital learning, and blended experiences using adult-learning and instructional-design principles.
  • Facilitate high-impact instructor-led, virtual, workshop, cohort, and train-the-trainer experiences; adapt methods to audience needs and strengthen application, practice, and knowledge retention.
  • Create evaluation strategies and analyze feedback, knowledge results, adoption indicators, and on-the-job performance measures to assess effectiveness and recommend improvements.
  • Partner with leaders, vendors, and cross-functional stakeholders to align learning objectives, content, delivery plans, communications, and reinforcement with business priorities.
  • Use learning technology, data, AI-enabled tools, and emerging practices to improve access, scalability, learner experience, and program outcomes in accordance with LPL standards.
  • Establish and apply reusable design, facilitation, content, and program-management practices that improve consistency, quality, accessibility, and efficiency across learning solutions.
  • Manage scope, milestones, risks, resources, and stakeholder communications; deliver high-quality work on time and within established budgets.
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and knowledge sharing to learning colleagues and contributors; review work products and support capability growth within the job area.
  • Maintain current knowledge of LPL business priorities, technology, processes, the financial-services environment, and relevant learning trends to ensure solutions remain practical and business aligned.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
