Job Summary: The Marketing Manager leads A New Leaf's marketing, communications, public relations, and brand initiatives. This position develops and executes strategic marketing and communication efforts that increase awareness, strengthen donor and community engagement, support fundraising goals, and advance the organization's mission. The Marketing Manager provides departmental leadership while ensuring consistent messaging and brand integrity across all channels. Responsibilities:
Develop and execute comprehensive marketing, communications, and brand strategies that support organizational goals and engage donors, clients, volunteers, and community stakeholders. Lead integrated communications efforts across digital and traditional channels, including website, email, social media, video, print, direct mail, and advertising. Partner with the Development Team to support fundraising initiatives, including Annual Fund campaigns, major gifts, planned giving, grants, volunteer engagement, donor acquisition, retention, re-engagement, and stewardship. Leverage Raiser's Edge and other technologies to strengthen donor engagement, optimize communications, and improve marketing effectiveness. Oversee the creation, production, and distribution of marketing and communications materials, ensuring consistent branding, messaging, and quality standards Analyze marketing and communications performance metrics and use data-driven insights to improve strategy, engagement, and outcomes Manage the organization's digital presence, including website content, SEO, online reputation, and social media strategy. Serve as a strategic advisor to leadership on brand positioning, communications, marketing trends, and growth opportunities. Lead public relations and media relations efforts, including press releases, interviews, recognition programs, and community awareness initiatives. Support advocacy and public policy communications in partnership with organizational leadership as needed. Promote a high level of customer service and responsiveness for donors, clients, community partners, volunteers, and internal stakeholders. Train and support staff, volunteers, and stakeholders in effectively representing A New Leaf's mission, programs, and brand. Direct the daily operations of the Marketing and Communications Department, including hiring, staff development, performance management, and team supervision Develop and manage departmental budgets, vendor relationships, contracts, and marketing resources to ensure effective use of organizational funds. Lead and support the Marketing Committee to advance strategic marketing and community engagement initiatives. Improve departmental processes, workflows, technologies, and project management systems to increase efficiency and effectiveness. Represent A New Leaf in the community, maintain knowledge of agency programs and services, and uphold the AFP Code of Ethical Principles and Standards, the Donor Bill of Rights, and organizational values.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, Public Relations, or a related field required. Master’s degree preferred
Experience:
Minimum five (5) years of progressive leadership experience in marketing, communications, public relations, fundraising, or strategic planning, including staff supervision and project management. Demonstrated success developing and executing integrated marketing, communications, and brand strategies. Strong leadership, organizational, project management, and relationship-building skills. Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to analyze data and performance metrics to evaluate effectiveness and inform decision-making. Knowledge of branding, public relations, donor engagement, digital marketing, website management, SEO, email marketing, marketing automation, and social media best practices. Proficiency with Microsoft 365, Raiser's Edge or similar CRM systems, Google Analytics or comparable reporting tools, and content management systems (CMS). Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Canva, video editing software, and project management platforms such as Asana, Monday.com, or Trello. Ability to leverage technology and digital tools to improve efficiency, collaboration, and communication outcomes.
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
Primarily office-based work with regular travel for donor meetings, fundraising events, community engagement activities, and organizational functions Frequent interaction with donors, community leaders, board members, staff, and external stakeholders in both professional and public settings Ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer, attending meetings, and participating in presentations or events. Ability to communicate effectively in individual and group settings, including presentations, public speaking, and networking activities. Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends in support of fundraising events, donor engagement activities, and organizational functions. Occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs. for event materials, office supplies, or promotional items. Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and organizational initiatives. Ability to maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and effective working relationships in a collaborative environment.
