About the Role

We are looking for a hands-on People leader who is ready to own Talent and core People Operations end-to-end. This is a Lead role responsible for driving full-cycle recruitment, onboarding and offboarding architecture, performance management cycles, employee relations, case management, and provide business partner support.

You will work closely with leadership to ensure we are hiring exceptional talent, building scalable People systems, and maintaining a performance-driven and compliant work environment as we continue to scale across Kids & Family, Ad Tech, and Sports.

This role requires strong operational discipline, sound judgment, and the ability to balance business priorities with employee experience.

About YOU

You are confident in making decisions that thoughtfully balance the needs of employees with the priorities of the organization, guided by integrity and accountability. You thrive in dynamic, growing environments where agility is essential, and you are comfortable rolling up your sleeves to build, refine, and execute. You bring an entrepreneurial mindset to your work — proactive, solution-oriented, and focused on outcomes.

You are structured and independent, yet flexible. In agile environments where priorities evolve quickly across Product, Tech, Sports, and Revenue teams, you adapt without losing clarity. You understand that structure is sometimes created through action, and you ask the right questions to bring alignment when ambiguity arises.

You take ownership. You don’t wait to be told what needs improvement — you identify gaps, strengthen systems, and raise the bar. You hold yourself and others accountable, balancing compassion with consistency. You are comfortable navigating complex employee matters, managing performance documentation, and providing direct, practical guidance to leaders.

You operate autonomously with confidence, while knowing when collaboration or escalation is the right move. You understand that strong People leadership is both supportive and disciplined — and you embody that balance every day.

Key Responsibilities

Talent Acquisition – End-to-End Ownership

· Partner with leadership on workforce planning and hiring strategy.

· Draft structured, outcome-focused job descriptions aligned to business needs.

· Own full-cycle recruitment including intake, sourcing, structured interviews, offer negotiation, and closing.

· Develop consistent hiring scorecards and structured interview frameworks to improve hiring quality.

· Leverage the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) to build efficient, scalable recruitment workflows, including pipeline tracking, reporting, automation, and candidate communication.

· Use ATS data and metrics (time-to-fill, funnel conversion, source effectiveness) to drive continuous improvement in hiring processes.

· Manage external recruiters where required, ensuring alignment on expectations, quality standards, and timelines.

· Ensure a professional and responsive candidate experience aligned with APMC’s standards and employer brand.

Onboarding & Offboarding Operations

  • Design and maintain structured onboarding programs (including 30-60-90 frameworks)
  • Coordinate onboarding across IT, Payroll, Benefits and Leadership
  • Lead compliant and risk-aware offboarding processes
  • Maintain documentation standards and process consistency
  • Continuously improve workflows for scalability

Performance Management & Accountability

  • Own and execute performance review cycles
  • Coach managers on structured feedback and documentation
  • Lead Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs)
  • Support corrective action and termination processes
  • Align KPIs to role clarity and business objectives
  • You help drive a culture of clarity and performance with accountability and goals.

Employee Relations & Case Management

  • Manage employee relations matters with professionalism and discretion
  • Conduct investigations and fact-finding when required
  • Interpret employment standards legislation and company policies
  • Provide risk-aware recommendations to leadership
  • Maintain documentation to protect both employees and the organization
  • Interpret and apply company policies consistently and update policies as required to reflect business and legislative changes.

Policy Development & Governance

  • Draft, review, and maintain company policies to ensure clarity, compliance, and alignment with evolving business needs.
  • Interpret and apply policies consistently across departments.
  • Partner with leadership to update policies in response to organizational growth or legislative changes.
  • Ensure policy communication, acknowledgment tracking, and version control.
  • Balance practicality with compliance — ensuring policies support agility without compromising risk management.

HRIS - People Systems and Data

  • Maintain integrity of employee records within HRIS
  • Generate People reporting and insights
  • Identify opportunities for automation and operational improvement
  • Maintain policy documentation, acknowledgements, and version control within HR systems.

Business Unit People Partnership

  • Act as a trusted People partner to assigned leaders
  • Support workforce planning and role clarity
  • Coach leaders on delegation, accountability and communication
  • Support change management as the organization evolves

Qualifications & Experience

· 7–10+ years of progressive Human Resources experience in a fast-paced or scaling organization.

· Demonstrated experience owning People Operations end-to-end, including onboarding, offboarding, documentation standards, and process governance.

· Proven experience managing full-cycle recruitment, including intake strategy, sourcing, structured interviews, offer negotiation, and closing across multiple functions.

· Hands-on experience leading and executing performance management programs, including running performance cycles, facilitating calibration discussions, and managing Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs).

· Demonstrated experience managing employee relations and case management, including investigations, progressive discipline, and compliant terminations.

· Experience drafting, interpreting, and maintaining HR policies, ensuring alignment with employment legislation and evolving business needs.

· Strong working knowledge of Canadian employment standards and compliance best practices.

· Advanced working proficiency in HRIS platforms (Rippling, BambooHR, Deel, Workday or similar), including reporting, workflow management, and data integrity oversight.

· Experience supporting agile, product-driven, or high-growth environments where priorities shift quickly.

· Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business, or a related field; CPHR designation considered an asset.

Nice to Haves!

· Exposure to working in a global or multi-jurisdictional work environment, including supporting distributed teams.

· Experience working with U.S.-based companies and employees, including familiarity with U.S. employment practices and cross-border People considerations.

· Experience supporting media, technology, streaming, or product-driven organizations, particularly in agile environments.

· Demonstrated experience contributing to or supporting HRIS implementation, migration, or system optimization projects.

· Prior experience mentoring or guiding junior HR team members and contributing to the development of internal People standards.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
