As an Apprentice Sales & Service Technician, you will learn from the best in the industry. Our team will train you on everything you need to know to thrive in your very own market. No previous experience with garage doors required, we got you!

Pay, benefits, other cool stuff:

- Apprentice Technicians can expect to earn between $60,000 and $90,000 in their first year.

- The Technician role is 100% commission. There is NO CAP on commissions.

The Journey of an Apprentice Technician:

- Our apprenticeship is a 4 week training program at the A1 Training Academy in Phoenix, AZ.

- A1 covers flights and accommodations for the duration of your training in Phoenix. (All apprenticeship/training weeks are paid. You will typically work 45-50 hours a week while an apprentice and qualify for overtime for hours over 40 in a week.

- Once you complete training, you will receive a one thousand dollar bonus, and graduate to a junior technician. You will perform your duties as a technician in and around your market. Boom!

Interview Process:

Our interview process is not long, but it’s thorough. We want to make sure that each person who joins the team is the right fit. And that we are the right fit for you!

- After we review your application, you will be contacted for an interview with a recruiter if we want to know more. Plan on up to 30 minutes.

- Next step is an interview with the Hiring Manager. Plan on approximately 45-60 minutes.

- Last step is when the fun begins: you will be invited to ride along with one of our technicians so you can see what life as a Technician is really like. Plan on a full day

The Job:

- Travel to various service calls to meet customers in their residence and advise on repair, maintenance or purchase of a new door.

- Assemble mechanical components or machine parts.

- Adjust equipment to ensure optimal performance.

- Order replacement parts.

- Repair or replace worn or broken door parts using hand tools.

- Disassemble equipment for maintenance or repair.

- Remove parts or components from equipment.

- Install hardware or other interior fixtures.

- Run wiring to connect equipment.

- Lubricate equipment to allow proper functioning.

- Test mechanical equipment to ensure its functioning properly.

- Document operational activities

- Collect payments for goods or services

Basic Requirements:

- Be nice! I know, we shouldn’t have to say that, but we mean it

- Able to bend, climb, kneel and stand for long periods

- Min 21 years old

- Physically able to lift 75lbs

- Valid driver’s license for at least 3 years

- Willingness to undergo pre-employment drug test (not including THC) and criminal background check and driving record

- Knowledge of basic software such as navigation apps, Google etc as well as tablet and computer use.

- Knowledge of hand tools and power tools

- GED or HS diploma not required, however reading skills as well as basic math skills (measurements, payments) are required

- Professional appearance

- Employment requires current eligibility to legally work in the United States

BEFORE YOU APPLY

👉🏻This location operates with expanded service hours to support increased capacity and customer demand. Team members may be scheduled for shifts from 6AM to 4PM, 8:30AM-6:30PM or 11AM to 9PM, with assignments based on performance and seniority. The facility is open seven days a week, requiring flexibility in scheduling, including weekends.
