About the Team

OpenAI didn’t begin as a traditional company. It began as an idea: that artificial intelligence could be developed in a way that benefits everyone. As a creative team, our role is to help make sure the work behind that idea is understood, as it leaves the lab and meets the world.

This company works at the frontier of intelligence. Like any frontier, it’s unfinished, constantly shifting, and still being explored. Our job is to stay close to that uncertainty and help shape how this story gets told, in a way that feels grounded and human. We do this through campaigns, launches, films, brand systems, and work that doesn’t fit neatly into any of those categories yet. This team is for people who want to help shape something from the beginning.

This team is for people who are energized by ambiguity, intellectually curious, and excited to build something enduring from the beginning.

About the Role

As Content Studio Creative Lead, you will build and lead a centralized content studio that serves the broader creative team. You will be both a senior maker and a capability builder: creating timely, high-quality content while shaping the studio’s creative approach, talent network, and quality standards, in partnership with Production on the processes that support the work at scale.

We’re looking for someone who can move fluidly between hands-on content creation and creative systems thinking. You will work closely with leaders, researchers, creative teams, and external partners to capture stories at the source and turn them into compelling work for web, social, and the broader OpenAI brand.

This role is based in San Francisco, CA. We use a hybrid work model of 3 days in the office per week and offer relocation assistance to new employees. Travel for production may be required.

In this role, you will:

  • Define the content studio’s creative vision, creative strategy, and measures of quality and effectiveness, and partner with Production on production workflows.
  • Identify the right creative talent and partners across internal teams, freelancers, and agencies, working with Production to build the team and production approach around each project.
  • Create reusable formats, playbooks, and standards that help teams produce strong work quickly across web, social, editorial, and brand channels.
  • Partner with creative leads to prioritize requests and set the creative ambition and craft needs for each opportunity. Work with Production to make shared decisions on scope, budget, tradeoffs, and how to bring the work to life.

You might thrive in this role if you:

  • Have 10+ years of building or significantly scaling a content, production, editorial, or studio capability.
  • Are an accomplished content maker with strong editorial judgment and a portfolio spanning multiple formats and channels.
  • Can personally develop and create high-priority content with leaders, researchers, customers, and external partners, from concept through delivery.
  • Can creatively lead work from concept through delivery while partnering with Production and remaining hands-on when the work demands it.
  • Build trust quickly with senior leaders, technical experts, creative collaborators, and external talent.
  • Bring operational rigor, resourcefulness, and calm decision-making to fast-moving production environments.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
