The posting

At the Technical Faculty of IT and Design, Department of Sustainability and Planning, Copenhagen, a position as Postdoc in Energy System Analysis is open for appointment from 1 February 2027 or soon hereafter. The position is a 2-year Post Doc.

The department was established in 1975. Today, we are located in two beautiful harbour-front locations in both Aalborg and Copenhagen. We have more than 250 employees and approximately 1,200 students across the two cities. Our research and study programmes are rooted in sustainability and the green transition. This means we conduct research in areas such as the circular economy, technology, urban, energy, and environmental planning, as well as sustainable transition and design. Sustainability is central to our work in environmental assessment and marine management. In surveying and land use, sustainability is reflected in our efforts in nature restoration and climate adaptation. As society continues to develop digitally, we also focus on responsible technology development, addressing real-life challenges. Our problem-oriented approach and close collaboration with businesses and public organisations form the foundation of all our study programmes. Additionally, our engineering programmes are among the best in Europe.

Job description The Postdoctoral Researcher position focuses on energy system analysis and tool development, with particular emphasis on energy system modelling across multiple scales (European, national, regional) and the application of energy systems analysis within a problem-based learning (PBL) environment. The candidate will contribute to a number of research and educational projects, strengthening the integration of research activities with the development of teaching materials and learning activities for bachelor-level courses. Therefore, it is expected that the candidate can teach in Danish. The use of the energy systems simulation models EnergyPLAN and EnergyPRO is a cornerstone in the work, thus experience with this tool and model linking with other tools is a pivotal strength for applications to this position. Applicants with a relevant background or experience with other system analysis tools are also encouraged to apply for this position. The position includes teaching and supervision responsibilities within the field of energy systems and sustainability, primarily in the bachelor programmes offered by the Department of Sustainability and Planning. Applicants are expected to have documented experience in teaching and student supervision at university level.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
