About the Role

Abnormal is growing fast, and the way we show up in the world has to keep pace. Our Strategic Events are where our story stops being a pitch and starts being an experience, where CISOs and practitioners walk in curious and walk out convinced. This role will support the strategic events programs across EMEA, including major third-party events, flagship first-party events, and high-profile executive events.

As Strategic Events Specialist, EMEA, you'll bring new ideas and experiences to how we create impact across our events program. You're someone who thrives on a great project plan, keeping deadlines tracked and on target, and managing multiple stakeholders at once across different time zones. Your communication is second to none, and you're always thinking one step ahead when it comes to delivering an event, pre-event and on-site. You understand the importance of an event running smoothly, and love learning as you go to optimise for the future.

This role is perfect for somebody looking for their next step up: a hands-on IC role where you’ll play a lead role in some of our largest flagship events across EMEA, and pitch in on general team tasks day to day. You'll run established event formats independently and apply good judgement within known processes, while leaning on your manager for guidance on new or first-of-their-kind activations. If that sounds like your kind of thing, we want to hear from you!

How You'll Deliver Impact

Project Management, Event Logistics & Vendor Management

  • Support all event logistics end to end and take full ownership of numerous projects, such as creative tasks, room blocks, catering orders, swag orders, staff schedules, promotional assets, and much more.
  • Help coordinate with external stakeholders, such as venues, agencies, event organisers, hotels, couriers, and many more.
  • Help source agencies, venues, production partners and suppliers.
  • Assist with run-of-shows, timelines and contingency plans across multiple concurrent events and markets.
  • Coordinate invitation strategy, registration, attendee communications and internal promotion so the right people show up, market by market.

Regional Strategy & Portfolio Support

  • Support the EMEA strategic event mapping and calendar planning, prioritising investment against pipeline and account-engagement goals.
  • Share experiences and feedback on which events make most sense for our strategic events program across EMEA.

Internal Cross-Functional & Partner/Alliance Collaboration

  • Build relationships with Regional Revenue Marketing, Sales, SDR/BDR, Customer Marketing, Product, Sales Engineering, Partner/Alliance Marketing and Brand/Creative across regions and time zones.
  • Work closely with the Revenue Marketing Manager team to ensure Sales are fully enabled on all event details and what is expected of them.

Budget Ownership & ROI Tracking

  • Support budget tracking for your owned events and the events you support.
  • Suggest alternative, more cost-effective ways of doing things at events, including researching vendors and agencies for cost comparisons.
  • Budget admin, including raising purchase orders, submitting invoices, and updating budget management tools.

On-Site Execution

  • Lead on-site at your own events, including training other on-site team members and coordinating and leading staff orientations.
  • Support on-site execution for flagship regional events, directing any temporary or contract event staff and troubleshooting in real time.
  • Set clear expectations on-site for all teams by hosting staff orientations virtually and in person

Post-Event Follow-Up & Program Result Accountability

  • Post-event admin, including list uploads and sending post-event reports.
  • Help build repeatable regional playbooks and share best practice with peers across the broader Strategic Events team, including other regions
  • Run post-event retrospectives and apply lessons learned to improve the next event, raising the bar for the regional program as it scales
  • Ensure tight alignment with regional teams to ensure full ROI of event is realised, by sharing regular lead status update reports

What You Bring

  • 2–4 years' experience in B2B events or experiential marketing, ideally within technology, SaaS, cybersecurity or enterprise software.
  • Experience of owning established, repeatable event formats end-to-end — not just coordinating logistics for someone else's plan — with sound judgement on known procedures and a willingness to ask for guidance on new or first-of-their-kind activations.
  • Experience running executive-level programmes (dinners, roundtables, advisory boards) as well as larger conference/trade show activations.
  • Multi-market EMEA experience and the ability to work across different time zones and regions.
  • Strong program management habits: organised, deadline-driven, and increasingly independent on routine work.
  • Budget, vendor and contract management experience across multiple concurrent workstreams.
  • Confidence working cross-functionally with Sales, SDR/BDR and Marketing stakeholders, and translating event activity into commercial outcomes.
  • Comfortable presenting event results and ROI to stakeholders using registration, pipeline and engagement data.
  • Willingness to travel roughly 40–50%, mainly across EMEA, with some APAC and AMER travel, including evening/weekend work around live events.

Cybersecurity or enterprise software experience is a plus, not a requirement. What matters is commercial judgement, regional ownership, and exceptional execution.

Preferred

  • Experience with event and marketing technology such as Asana, Allocadia, Coupa, Jifflenow, Cvent, Salesforce, Sigma, Splash, RainFocus, Claude, and Google Suite.
  • An additional European language.
  • Familiarity with account-based marketing (ABM) principles and target-account event strategies.

The Ideal Candidate

You know a great event is not a logistics exercise. It's a story told in three dimensions — one that brings a brand to life, earns trust with prospects and customers, arms the sales team, and produces measurable business impact.

You're equally at home building a project plan in a spreadsheet and troubleshooting a badge-printer jam at 7am. You're calm when things go sideways, direct when something isn't working, and generous with your stakeholders when it goes right.

Most of all, you care about the craft. The details other people don't notice are exactly the ones you fix.

What Success Looks Like

  • Your events are delivered flawlessly and consistently
  • Registrations, attendance, meetings and pipeline consistently hit or beat plan for the events you own.
  • Budgets and vendor relationships are managed with discipline and transparency.
  • Every event has a clear measurement story and a defensible ROI.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
