Company Description

Abramson Labor Group is a leading employment and workers' compensation law firm dedicated to advocating for employees' rights. Based in Burbank, CA, we are determined in representing workers who have faced discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, wage disputes, and workplace injuries. Our team is committed to providing top-tier legal representation with a client-focused approach, ensuring that every case receives the attention and expertise it deserves.

At Abramson Labor Group, we foster a dynamic and collaborative work environment where professionals can grow while making a meaningful impact in the lives of our clients. If you are passionate about employment law and workers' rights, we invite you to join our dedicated team.

Job Description

As a Consumer Class Action Associate, you'll litigate class and representative actions on behalf of California consumers in state and federal court. You'll work closely with senior attorneys on case strategy while carrying real responsibility on your own matters — from pre-filing investigation through class certification, settlement, and trial. You'll be supported by an experienced team of paralegals and legal assistants.

What You'll Do

  • Investigate and evaluate potential consumer class claims, including false advertising, unfair business practices, data privacy, automatic renewal, warranty, and product defect matters
  • Draft complaints, pre-litigation demand letters (including CLRA notices), and amended pleadings
  • Research and draft motions and oppositions, including motions to dismiss, motions to compel arbitration, class certification, summary judgment, and preliminary and final settlement approval
  • Develop and manage discovery: written discovery, ESI and large document productions, meet-and-confer, and discovery motions
  • Prepare for, take, and defend depositions, including corporate (PMQ/30(b)(6)) witnesses
  • Work with experts on damages models, consumer surveys, and technical issues
  • Prepare mediation briefs and help negotiate class settlements; assist with notice and claims administration
  • Communicate with class representatives and keep them informed throughout the case
  • Manage a docket of deadlines and court filings with accuracy and ownership
  • Track developments in California and federal consumer protection law and help identify new case opportunities

Qualifications

What You Bring

Required

  • J.D. from an accredited law school
  • Active California State Bar license in good standing
  • 2+ years of civil litigation experience, including meaningful exposure to class action or complex litigation
  • Excellent legal research and writing skills — you can produce a persuasive, well-organized brief with limited editing
  • Working knowledge of California consumer statutes such as the UCL (Bus. & Prof. Code § 17200), FAL (§ 17500), and CLRA (Civ. Code § 1750 et seq.)
  • Familiarity with class procedure under FRCP 23 and Cal. Code Civ. Proc. § 382
  • Strong organization and ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines at once
  • Clear, professional communication with clients, opposing counsel, and the court

Preferred

  • Plaintiff-side consumer class action experience
  • Experience with data privacy (CIPA, CCPA), Automatic Renewal Law, or TCPA claims
  • Experience opposing motions to compel arbitration and handling mass arbitration
  • Experience working with damages experts or consumer survey evidence
  • Experience with wage and hour or PAGA class actions
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
