Our innovative company is looking to fill the role of Windows/VMware Administrator. Day to day activities include developing and documenting system specifications, implementing hardware and OS, maintaining high operational uptime stringent SLAs, coordinating with applications and database teams and other operational and project-based tasks as well as mentoring teammates and developing KPIs and operational standards. This is a high-level position so please review the list of responsibilities and qualifications listed below.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Hands-on experience with VMware vSphere Suite, versions 6.5 and above
  • Hands on experience with Windows Server versions 2012 and above
  • Good understanding of VMware VCF/VSAN/NSX
  • Patch management automation and troubleshooting
  • Experience in “commercial off the shelf” (COTS)/GOTS/FOSS software installations
  • STIG settings to each product or underlying OS
  • Ability to work independently and troubleshoot problems with speed and efficiency.
  • Effectively interact with internal and external personnel to coordinate and resolve complex issues Planning, deployment, installation, and upgrades of OS and applications
  • Integration with Enterprise level administration of common network services such as Active Directory, DNS, TCP/IP, DHCP and troubleshooting.
  • High level analytics and research skills - must be detail oriented.
  • Hands on experience in writing PowerShell script.
  • Knowledge of external storage systems such as IBM V7k, Pure Storage and Netapp
  • Knowledge of Active Directory services, LDAP
  • Knowledge of Terminal/Citrix XenApp/Xendesktop server
  • Understanding of general network topology and operation
  • Demonstrated ability to research and create detailed computing system documentation and operational guides/procedures.
  • Experience developing, documenting, deploying, and maintaining Windows golden OS images.
  • Understanding of ITIL process & terms

Qualifications

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • 6-8 years of experience as a Windows/VMware System Administrator
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with a diverse user community in quick-response situations and to coordinate / collaborate with team members.
  • Experience developing effective, proactive monitoring and alerting to assure system uptime.
  • High level troubleshooting skills at the OS, virtualization and hardware layer
  • Understanding of networking topology and protocols
  • Clear and concise communications both written and verbal.
  • Good Understanding of AI
  • ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Ready to work in 24X7 Shifts & on call schedule.
  • Training: The post holder will be expected to undertake training to ensure that her/his skills are current.
