The Web Developer is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining dynamic, responsive, and accessible web applications and digital content. Working with modern front-end technologies, design systems, and Content Management Systems (CMS), this role transforms UX/UI designs into functional, high-quality digital experiences across various devices and browsers. The role collaborates closely with cross-functional teams—including designers, product managers, and back-end engineers—to build reusable components, integrate APIs, optimize web performance, and maintain web standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Front-End Development & Layouts: Build responsive, mobile-first web page layouts and HTML emails from scratch using semantic HTML5, modern CSS techniques (Flexbox, CSS Grid), and JavaScript (ES6+).
  • Component & Design System Implementation: Develop and maintain reusable UI components using modern JavaScript frameworks/libraries (React, Vue, or Angular) while adhering to design systems, tokens, and brand guidelines.
  • Content Management & Operations: Create, update, version, and publish content across CMS platforms (e.g., Contentful, WordPress, Adobe Experience Manager), ensuring consistency and proper digital asset lifecycle management.
  • API & Back-End Integration: Integrate RESTful APIs and handle data-fetching using modern libraries (e.g., Axios, Fetch API, JSON/XML data formats) in collaboration with back-end developers.
  • Performance & SEO Optimization: Optimize front-end performance, asset delivery, and Core Web Vitals using techniques such as lazy loading, image optimization (WebP, AVIF), resource prefetching, and structured metadata implementation.
  • Testing & Quality Assurance: Write and maintain unit and integration tests using tools like Jest and React Testing Library, while utilizing browser developer tools and linters to debug and maintain code quality.
  • Accessibility & Web Standards: Implement web accessibility best practices (WCAG standards, ARIA roles, semantic markup) and cross-browser/device compatibility across all web deliverables.
  • Agile Collaboration & Technical Communication: Participate actively in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, communicating technical risks, dependencies, and status updates effectively to cross-functional stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience Level: Recommended 2+ years of professional experience as a Web Developer or in a similar front-end development role.
  • HTML & Semantic Web: Solid experience building layouts from scratch using semantic HTML5, accessible markup, form validation, and modern web standards.
  • CSS & Responsive Design: Strong expertise in developing stylesheets from scratch utilizing Flexbox, CSS Grid, keyframe animations, CSS functions (calc()), and mobile-first responsive design principles.
  • JavaScript & Frameworks: Solid proficiency in core JavaScript (ES6+ fundamentals, DOM manipulation, events) and hands-on familiarity with modern frameworks/libraries such as React, Vue, or Angular.
  • API Integration: Proven experience consuming RESTful APIs using JavaScript (Fetch API, Axios) and manipulating JSON/XML data structures.
  • Build Tools & Workflow: Experience using Node.js build tools and bundlers (e.g., Webpack, Gulp, Vite) along with NPM/Yarn package ecosystems.
  • Version Control & Debugging: Proficiency with Git version control systems (branching, merging, pull requests) and browser development tools (e.g., Chrome DevTools) for debugging layout, performance, and scripting issues.
  • Soft Skills & Communication: Demonstrated ability to manage priorities, communicate technical risks effectively, and collaborate within cross-functional teams.
  • Language Proficiency: Minimum English proficiency level of B2 (or equivalent intermediate level) in written and verbal communication.
  • Minimum required education: High School Diploma.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced Styling & Frameworks: Knowledge of CSS pre-processors (SCSS/LESS), utility-first CSS frameworks (e.g., Tailwind CSS, Bootstrap 5), or pre-built design libraries.
  • Testing & Code Quality: Experience with unit testing frameworks (Jest, React Testing Library), end-to-end testing tools (Cypress), and code quality utilities (ESLint, Prettier, Stylelint).
  • Modern Web Standards (a11y, SEO & Web Vitals): Practical knowledge of Web Accessibility guidelines (WCAG 2.1/2.2, ARIA), automated testing tools (axe, Lighthouse), SEO principles, and Core Web Vitals.
  • Advanced JS, GraphQL & Back-End Concepts: Familiarity with TypeScript, modern JS features, basic GraphQL integration, or general back-end programming and scripting concepts.
  • Design Tools & CMS Templating: Experience working with design tools (Figma, Adobe XD, Photoshop) for asset slicing/optimization, analytics integration (GA4, Adobe Launch), or custom CMS theme development.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
