Job Description

Job Summary:

ACCO relies on a variety of enterprise-level software packages and Technology Team tools to facilitate effective business processes and manage critical employee, financial, and job-related data. Accordingly, data accuracy and integrity, along with effective and efficient business processes, are key components in the company’s strategic growth plans. This Business Analyst role will contribute to successfully supporting business initiatives across the organization. The role will participate in the lifecycle of business analysis, working cross-functionally with Field, Accounting, Sales, and Operations teams to support change, assist with analytics capabilities, and help manage the quality and integration of data and processes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate on the collection and management of requirements, ensuring that solutions align with business goals and deliver value.
  • Contribute to the definition and implementation of best practices for collecting business requirements, business cases, and ROI analysis.
  • Clearly define issues and develop business cases for process changes or enhancements.
  • Clearly define business requirements and scope of new solutions.
  • Continuously identify and document issues with current business systems and processes.
  • Participate in the evaluation of solutions, with a focus on understanding downstream impacts.
  • Identify opportunities and participate in the development of solutions for process improvement.
  • Collaborate with Technology Development partners in the development and execution of solutions and in the development and testing of test scripts for software and process changes.
  • Collaborate with Technology Team Support partners in responding to queries, monitoring systems, analyzing data, and escalating issues as appropriate.
  • Assist in the development and presentation of strong business cases complete with ROI.
  • Assist in the definition of standards for data quality and ensure data is prepared for qualitative and quantitative decision-making.
  • Collaborate with Technology Team Support partners in responding to complex queries and contributing to insights from data analysis.
  • Other duties as assigned by management

Position Requirements (Work Experience, Skills, Licenses, etc.):

  • Strong knowledge of requirements analysis.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and other MS Office products.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work independently and in a team setting
  • Demonstrates a long-term approach to solutions.
  • Demonstrates flexibility and the ability to adapt to people and new processes.
  • Demonstrates appropriate discretion with sensitive information.
  • Demonstrates strength in troubleshooting issues with software and data.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of Systems Analysis (determining how a system should work and how changes in conditions, operations, and the environment affects outcomes.)
  • Strong verbal and written communications, articulating business issues into action, and presenting information clearly to all levels of management.
  • Strong critical thinking skills—the ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Mathematics, Economics, Data Analytics, or Information Technology, preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in a related field or a combination of education and experience preferred
  • Certifications in Business Analytics a plus.

Job Responsibility Level:

No direct reports

Hours:

This is a non-exempt position from Monday through Friday. Work hours begin and end between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm with a one-hour break for lunch and two rest breaks. Eight hours per day is required and other occasional overtime may be necessary for business needs

Physical Demands:

  • The employee may regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision and Distance vision.
  • The auditory/hearing abilities required by the job include the ability to hear customers calling by telephone.
  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit for prolonged periods, stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.

Competitive Wages:

$33 - $43 per hour. Applicants please note that actual compensation is determined by several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, depth of experience, certifications, relevant education or training, and specific work location, among others. The offered wage or salary is only one aspect of an employee's total compensation.
