Purpose As the Director of People & Culture Shared Services , you will lead the implementation of people-first strategies and processes across our Apartments & Realty Shared Services team. Your mission is to foster an engaged, high-performing, and inclusive workforce in alignment with Accor’s Purpose and Employee Value Proposition (EVP). In this senior leadership role, you will ensure that all People & Culture (P&C) initiatives are delivered in a commercially, legally, and operationally sound manner, perfectly balancing business objectives with outstanding employee experience. You will oversee P&C administration support for our hotels, champion engagement activities at our Gold Coast office, and serve as an authentic brand ambassador who represents Accor's values while maintaining strong professional standards. Primary Responsibilities
Develop and execute tailored strategies to elevate team member engagement, support ESG initiatives, and embed our signature Heartist culture. Oversee continuous learning surveys, global/local training programs, and signature recognition initiatives (such as Accorlades and Bernaches Awards).
Oversee the recruitment and retention of key talent, directly managing senior-level hiring for the Shared Services team. Collaborate with managers to identify high-potential talent and build robust succession plans for future leaders. Guide the performance review process, ensuring clear goal setting and regular feedback loops. Partner with, coach, and advise managers on handling performance improvement plans, conflict resolution, and grievances, acting as a fair mediator. Lead and manage change initiatives, structuring clear communications to support team members through transitions while ensuring minimal disruption to business operations. Manage employee relations matters in strict compliance with local legislation and global policies. Conduct thorough investigations when required and act as a proactive voice for progressive policies. Inspire, mentor, and manage the P&C Shared Services team Build strong collaborative relationships with regional and operational leaders, General Managers, and the wider Talent & Culture network. Cultivate a physical and psychological environment that prioritises Work Health and Safety (WHS), Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI), and environmental sustainability.
Skills and experience
A Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Human Resources Management, Business, Industrial Relations, or a related field. A minimum of 7 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in a dedicated leadership or managerial position (ideally within hospitality, real estate, or a related service-oriented industry). Proven ability to design and execute talent strategies that align with business objectives, demonstrating a sophisticated capability to balance corporate interests with employee experience and stakeholder advocacy. In-depth knowledge of Australian labour laws, industrial relations, employment regulations, and compliance. Demonstrated success in leading organisational transformation and driving change agility within diverse, multicultural teams. Exceptional relationship-building, coaching, and negotiation skills. You must possess the emotional intelligence to manage sensitive employee conversations with absolute discretion, professionalism, and healthy boundaries. Proficient in HR data analysis and comfortable utilising P&C systems and modern talent management software.
