The posting

NWTS is seeking a Calibration Technician Supervisor to support daily calibration and service operations while remaining primarily hands‑on in technical work. This role focuses on advanced calibration execution, technical oversight, and supporting team consistency, ensuring all work meets regulatory, quality, and customer expectations.

This position is ideal for an experienced technician with 3+ years of calibration experience, including Nuclear Density Gauges, who is ready to take on a lead role—guiding others, setting technical standards, and owning work quality without full managerial responsibility.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership

  • Serve as a senior technical resource for calibration, repair, and troubleshooting.
  • Perform advanced calibrations, repairs, leak tests, and equipment rebuilds.
  • Support and validate technically complex or non‑standard work.
  • Provide technical guidance and informal training to other technicians.

Team Support & Coordination

  • Act as a lead technician supporting daily work assignments and workflow.
  • Assist with prioritization and coordination of service work as needed.
  • Serve as a technical escalation point for questions and problem-solving.
  • Promote consistent procedures, documentation, and quality standards.

Service Operations Support

  • Support daily service schedules, turnaround times, and work flow.
  • Coordinate equipment movement from intake through completion when required.
  • Ensure accurate tracking, documentation, and traceability of equipment.

Radiation Safety & Compliance

  • Support the Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) function.
  • Perform and oversee calibrations involving nuclear density gauges.
  • Ensure compliance with radiation safety regulations and ISO/IEC 17025.
  • Maintain required records and support audit readiness.

Customer Support

  • Provide technical support for customer inquiries and service questions.
  • Assist with troubleshooting, service updates, and technical explanations as needed.

Quality Control

  • Review calibration data, reports, and documentation for accuracy.
  • Ensure work meets quality standards before equipment release.

Inventory & Logistics

  • Support inventory accuracy, equipment traceability, and material availability.
  • Assist with shipping and receiving coordination as needed.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify technical or workflow inefficiencies and suggest improvements.
  • Assist with new tools, services, or procedural updates.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in calibration, technical service, or equipment repair.
  • Hands‑on experience with Nuclear Density Gauges.
  • Strong electronic and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
  • High attention to detail and ownership of work quality.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with Excel and service or inventory systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior Lead Technician or informal leadership experience.
  • Experience with radiation‑based equipment and safety programs.
  • ISO/IEC 17025 experience.
  • Experience with low‑voltage electronics.
  • Ability to train and support technicians through technical leadership.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
